Deepak Shenoy Honoured with Global Visionary Entrepreneur Award

  • Deepak Shenoy, Managing Director, Medec Dragon Pvt Ltd was honoured with "Global Visionary Entrepreneur of the year 2023" at the 6th Edition of South Asia Pacific Healthcare Summit & Business Award 2023 organised by Brandscouncil Ratings & Medilinks at Hotel Radisson in Mumbai, India.
  • Earlier this year, Medec Dragon Pvt. was awarded the most prestigious and coveted "Most Promising Company in Corporate Governance 2023" at the ASSOCHAM's national seminar organized under the theme Healthcare 5.0: Enhancing Healthcare Capabilities and Leadership Excellence Awards on April 19, 2023, in Kolkata. It also received the Golden Pinnacle Award for "Most Promising Company in Corporate Governance and Sustainability Vision Award 2003" in Dubai.

Ratan Tata to get Maharashtra Govt's First 'Udyog Ratna' Award

  • The Maharashtra government decided to honour Ratan Tata, the Chairman emeritus of the Tata group, with the first esteemed Maharashtra Udyog Ratna Award. This significant recognition was announced by the state Industries Minister, Uday Samant, during a session at the State Legislative Assembly.
  • Following the tradition of the Maharashtra Bhushan award, which is the highest state honour presented to distinguished individuals, the Maharashtra government introduced the prestigious Udyog Ratna Award starting this year (2023). Tata will be the inaugural recipient of this award.

Shankari Chandran Wins Miles Franklin Literary Award 2023

  • Ten years ago, Sri Lankan-origin Australian writer Shankari Chandran faced difficulty in getting her debut book published. The reason: publishers thought her novel wasn't "Australian" enough to be successful in their local market. And now, Chandran has been announced as the winner of the 2023 Miles Franklin Literary Award for her novel 'Chai Time at Cinnamon Gardens'.
  • Chandran's award-winning novel 'Chai Time at Cinnamon Gardens' is a story about family, memories, community, race. It is an intergenerational epic that highlights Australia's difficult and complex equation with multiculturalism and the traumas of post-colonialism. It also highlights how our stories shape the people that we are today. This is Chandran's third novel.
  • The Miles Franklin Literary Award is an annual prize given to a novel which is of the highest literary merit and presents Australian life in any of its phases. This year's judges for the award included: Richard Neville- State Library of NSW Mitchell librarian and Chair; author Bernadette Brennan; translator Mridula Nath Chakraborty; critic James Ley; and poet Elfie Shiosaki.
  • The Miles Franklin Literary Award is one of the prestigious literary awards in Australia. Previous winners of the award include Thea Astley, Jessica Anderson, Tim Winton, among others.

Heritage Byculla Railway Station Receives the UNESCO Award 2023

  • The heritage Byculla Railway station which was restored to its original glory, received the UNESCO award. The award was declared in November 2022.
  • UNESCO's Asia Pacific Cultural Heritage award for Byculla Station was presented to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav.
  • The 169-year-old Byculla railway station in Mumbai is one of the oldest railway stations in India still in use.
  • Infact, the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS) also won the highest award of excellence in the UNESCO Asia Pacific awards 2022, for cultural heritage conservation last year, when Byculla railway station was given the recognition.

Kartik Aaryan to Be Honoured With the Rising Global Superstar of Indian Cinema Award

  • The 14th Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) will be honouring actor Kartik Aaryan with its Rising Global Superstar of Indian Cinema award. According to the festival organisers, the 'Satyaprem Ki Katha' star will receive the award at the annual gala night of the festival on August 11.
  • The award will be presented by the Governor of Victoria, recognizing Kartik's remarkable achievements and his significant impact on the world of Indian cinema.
  • Festival director Mitu Bhowmick Lange said that Kartik enjoys a great fan base in Australia and they are thrilled to honour him.
