World MSME Day is observed every year on June 27 all over the world to highlight the significance of MSMEs and how they play a crucial role in being the backbone of the country's economy. Micro-Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises are the organisations that do not usually employ more than 250 employees, however, are responsible for creating more than two-thirds of all jobs globally. World MSME Day 2022 recognises the potential of MSMEs and their role in strengthening the economies globally. World MSME Day 2022 also aimed to raise public awareness regarding the contribution of MSMEs to global economic growth and sustainable development.
World MSME Day was first marked by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in its 74th Plenary on April 6, 2017. The decision of observing World MSME Day came after the International Council for Small Business (ICSB) 2016 World Conference declaration on the urgent need to recognise the MSMEs role in the global development.
The theme of World MSME Day 2022 was 'Resilience and Rebuilding: MSMEs for Sustainable Development'.

International Day in Support of Victims of Torture
The United Nations International Day in Support of Victims of Torture is an international observance held annually on June 26 to speak out against the crime of torture and to honour and support victims and survivors throughout the world.
The day was selected by the United Nations General Assembly for two reasons. First, on June 26, 1945, the United Nations Charter was signed during the midst of World War II – the first international instrument obliging UN members to respect and promote human rights. Second, 26 June 1987 was when the United Nations Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment came into effect.
The decision to annually observe the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture was taken by the UN General Assembly at the proposal of Denmark, which is home to the world-renowned International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims (IRCT).
International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking
The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, or World Drug Day, is marked on 26 June every year, to strengthen action and cooperation in achieving the goal of a world free of drug abuse.
It is observed annually since 1989. The date June 26 is to commemorate Lin Zexu's dismantling of the opium trade in Humen, Guangdong, ending on June 25, 1839,just before the First Opium War in China. The observance was instituted by General Assembly Resolution 42/112 of 7 December 1987.
The theme for International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2022 was 'Addressing drug challenges in health and humanitarian crises'.

Former Haryana DGP Urges PM Modi to Declare July 22 as National Flag Day
Former Haryana Police chief Sheel Madhur took it upon himself to spread awareness on the importance of national flag, the 'Tiranga', with a missionary zeal. He appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to declare July 22 as National Flag Day.
Seeking to give it a canonical status, he said that it encapsulated the suffering and sacrifices of millions of Indians for Independence. Madhur emphasised that there is an urgent need to have the provision a National Flag Day as it will prove to be the greatest saviour of the unity, integrity and strength of the country.
On July 22, 1947, our national flag, popularly known as 'Tiranga', came into existence in its present format and specification as it was accepted and adopted as the national flag of independent India by the Constituent Assembly.

International Widows Day
International Widow Day is observed every year on 23rd June.
International Widows Day was introduced by the United Nations in 2011 to highlight the voices of widows. The day is meant to take action for the complete rights and recognition of widows. Notably, before the United Nations, the day was observed by the Loomba Foundation in 2005. The foundation chose June 23 to mark International Widows Day as on this day in 1954, founder Rajinder Paul Loomba's mother Shrimati Pushpa Wati Loomba became a widow.
United Nations Public Service Day
With the aim to appreciate the value of public institutions and public servants, June 23 is observed as United Nations Public Service Day. It highlights the contribution and role of public service in the development of all sectors around the world. While acknowledging the work done by the public servants and their sheer dedication towards effective and responsive public administration, the United Nations Public Service Day also encourages youth to pursue their careers in the public sector on this day.
In a bid to encourage the same, the United Nations (UN) conducts a Public Service Awards ceremony every year to honour the contributions of public service institutions around the world.
As per the UN, this year's Public Service Day focused on the role of the public institutions and the public servants in building back better from the coronavirus pandemic. This will be done while keeping the 2030 deadline for implementing the Sustainable Development Goals in focus.
International Olympic Day
International Olympic Day or World Olympic Day is observed every year on June 23 and it's a celebration of sport, health, and being together. The day provides a moment for everyone to gather and get active with purpose.
The idea of celebrating an Olympic Day was adopted at the 42nd IOC Session in St Moritz. It was in 1948 that doctor Gruss, a Czech IOC member, presented the idea of a world Olympic day at the 41st Session of the International Olympic Committee in Stockholm, Sweden. The purpose was to celebrate the idea of the Olympic Movement.
The theme for International Olympic Day 2022 was 'Together, For a Peaceful World', accompanied by the social media hashtags #MoveForPeace and #OlympicDay. The World Olympic Day 2022 focused on the power that sport has to build a better world, by bringing people together in peace.

International Yoga Day
The International Yoga Day has been celebrated annually on June 21 since 2015, following its inception in the United Nations General Assembly in 2014.
The origin of the word "yoga" is from Sanskrit, which means "to unite". Yoga has gained tremendous popularity not only in India but across the globe.
The theme for International Yoga Day 2020 was "Yoga for Humanity".
World Hydrography Day
Every year June 21 is celebrated as World Hydrography Day. The day was approved and implemented by the International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO).
International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO) which works on the issues of marine life was established in 1921. The Monaco-based organisation became a face for highlighting the issues related to navigation, technical standards and protection of marine life to the government. However, with time, they felt the need to increase awareness among people related to hydrography for bringing out a bigger change. In 2005, they decided to observe World Hydrography Day.
The idea of celebrating World Hydrography Day is to create awareness about the safe marine practices and navigation of the sailors in the world. The day aims to promote the importance of hydrography and highlight the work of hydrographers.
Every year, IHO chooses a new theme to celebrate the day. The theme of the World Hydrography Day 2022 was "Hydrography - contributing to the United Nations Ocean Decade".
