The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) observes Income Tax Day (also known as Aaykar Diwas) on 24 July 2021. In India, the Income Tax Day is celebrated every year on July 24, as it was on July 24, 1980 that Income Tax was introduced for the first time in India by Sir James Wilson.
The purpose of this tax was to compensate for the losses incurred by the British regime during the first war of independence against British Rule in 1857. July 24 was first celebrated as Income Tax day in 2010.

International Moon Day
July 20, 2022 marked the inaugural celebration of International Moon Day. The United Nations General Assembly, on December 9, 2021, recognised the proposal submitted by the Moon Village Association and several other groups within the organisation. The application was submitted to the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA).
The day celebrates one of the most memorable moments in human history. On July 20, 1969, US astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first humans to reach the lunar planet. It was the first time that a human had set foot on the Moon's surface.
Upon landing on the surface, with millions of eyes watching history being written, Neil Armstrong hopped down the ladder and said, "That is one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind." The Apollo 11 astronauts used the lunar module called Eagle to reach the surface.
The International Moon Day would be held annually and will aim at educating and promoting the sustainable utilisation and exploration of the Moon and the need for regulations of activities on and around the lunar planet.
International Chess Day
World Chess Day is an annual event celebrated on July 20 across the globe. The day brings attention to the popular board game, Chess players like Viswanathan Anand, Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa, Magnus Carlsen, and highlights its positive impact on society.
On December 12, 2019, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) recognised World Chess Day. The date of July 20 was chosen as on this day in 1924, the International Chess Federation (FIDE) was established in Paris. FIDE, having more than 150 chess federations as its members, has celebrated World Chess Day since 1966.

Nelson Mandela International Day
The United Nations officially designated Nelson Mandela International Day or Mandela Day in November 2009. Every year on July 18, Mandela Day is celebrated on the birth anniversary of the former President of South Africa. The day is celebrated worldwide to commemorate achievements of the anti-apartheid leader and to carry forward his legacy for a better future.
He was the country's first black President. The purpose of the day is to inspire everyone to make a difference in their communities by following the ideology and vision of Mandela.
According to the United Nations, the theme for Nelson Mandela International Day 2022 was "do what you can with what you have and where you are."

World Day for International Justice
World Day for International Justice, also referred to as Day of International Criminal Justice or International Justice Day, is an international day celebrated throughout the world on July 17 as part of an effort to recognize the emerging system of international criminal justice. July 17 is the date of the adoption of the treaty that created the International Criminal Court. On June 1, 2010, at the Review Conference of the Rome Statute held in Kampala (Uganda), the Assembly of State Parties decided to celebrate July 17 as the Day of International Criminal Justice.
