Tripura, Manipur, and Meghalaya Foundation Day is celebrated on January 21 every year.
When India attained independence in 1947, the North Easter part was composed of the Assam plains of the old Assam Province, the hill districts, and the North Easter Frontier Tracts (NEFT) of the North-Eastern borderland as well as the Princely States of Tripura and Manipur.
Later in 1949, Manipur and Tripura were granted the status of Union Territories and on 1st December 1963, Nagaland was declared a state. Meghalaya became an autonomous state within Assam as per the Sixth Schedule of Indian Constitution through the Assam Reorganisation (Meghalaya) Act 1969. However, it took some time for Meghalaya to attain the statehood.
Finally, on 21st January 1972, Manipur, Tripura and Meghalaya attained statehood under the North East Reorganisation Act of 1972.

National Disaster Response Force Day
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Raising Day is commemorated on January 19, every year. Since the Force's formation in 2006, the personnel have played a crucial role in the country's disaster management and community awareness for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). The 12 Battalions of the NDRF consist of specialised, multi-skilled personnel. These battalions are located at 16 different locations on the basis of the vulnerability profile. It is done to cut down the response time for their deployment at disaster sites.
The National Disaster Response Force was raised on January 19, 2006 as a premium rescue response force of the country. Their motto is 'Aapada Seva Sadaiv Sarvatra'. It means the sustained disaster response service under all circumstances. Every year since its establishment, the country celebrates the NDRF Raising Day. This year (2023) marked the 18th Raising Day.

National Start-up Day
National Start-up Day is celebrated on January 16. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry marked an entire week as National Start-up Week from January 10 to 16.
The Start-up India Innovation Week was organized by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). The first day of Start-up India Innovation Week featured events, including a webinar on "Founders of Today, Leaders of Tomorrow," despite the lack of a set theme for the day.
The establishment of National Start-up Day on January 16 was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 15, 2022. The first National Start-up Day was observed in India that same year. PM Modi praised the expansion of start-ups over the previous few years as he spoke with aspiring business owners via video conference.

Every year, Indian Army Day is celebrated on January 15 in honour of Field Marshal Kodandera M. Cariappa took charge as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army on this day from the last British Army Chief, General Francis Butcher, in 1949. In 2023, India celebrated the 75th anniversary of Indian Army Day.

National Youth Day
India celebrates National Youth Day on January 12, the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, to honour one of the greatest philosophers and spiritual leaders. This day is also known as the Yuva Diwas, as it marks his ideas on how the youth should work hard and contribute to their country's overall development while upholding their values.
In 1984, the Indian government took the decision to celebrate Swami Vivekananda's birthday as National Youth Day in an attempt to inspire, ignite, and empower the nation's youth. Vivekananda is an inspiration to countless young people in India and around the world.
The theme for National Youth Day 2023 was 'Viksit Yuva-Viksit Bharat'.
