World Pneumonia Day

World Pneumonia Day is observed annually on November 12 with an aim to highlight and raise awareness about the complications and issues related to pneumonia. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), the rate of the severity of pneumonia is more in children less than five years of age and adults above 65 years of age are also at maximum risk.
World Pneumonia Day was first observed in 2009, under the 'Stop Pneumonia' initiatives by the Global Coalition Against Child Pneumonia.
'Defeat Pneumonia: Every Breath Counts, Every Action Matters' is the theme for World Pneumonia Day 2023.

National Education Day

National Education Day is celebrated every year on November 11 in honour of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India's first Education Minister. This special day marks his birthday and serves as a tribute to his remarkable contributions to education and institution building. Educational institutions across the country participate in this observance to emphasise the significance of literacy and education.
It was on November 11, 2008, that the Ministry of Human Resource Development officially designated Maulana Abul Kalam Azad's birthday as National Education Day. This day is dedicated to honouring his foundational contributions to India's educational system and to assess and enhance the country's current educational performance.
The theme for National Education Day 2023 is 'Prioritising Education: Investing in Our People'.

World Science Day for Peace and Development

World Science Day for Peace and Development, celebrated annually on November 10, serves as a global platform to recognize the pivotal role of science in society. This day not only emphasizes the importance of engaging the public in discussions on emerging scientific issues but also highlights the relevance of science in our daily lives. By linking science more closely with society, the day aims to keep citizens informed of scientific developments and the indispensable role scientists play in enhancing our understanding of our fragile planet.
The inception of World Science Day for Peace and Development can be traced back to the positive outcomes of the 1999 World Conference on Science in Budapest. Originating from a commitment to science and society, this day was established as an annual event to reaffirm goals proclaimed in the Declaration on Science and the Use of Scientific Knowledge. Since its proclamation by UNESCO in 2001, the day has catalysed numerous projects, programs, and funding for science globally.
The theme for World Science Day for Peace and Development 2023 is 'Building Trust in Science'.

World Usability Day

World Usability Day, or Make Things Easier Day, founded in 2005 by the Usability Professionals Association, is celebrated annually on the second Thursday in November. In 2023, it took place on November 9.
It promotes the values of usability, usability engineering, user-centred design, universal usability, and every user's obligation to demand better things.
Every year, a new theme is chosen for the discussion. The theme for World Usability Day 2023 is 'Collaboration and Cooperation'. This theme focuses on the importance of joining forces to create designs and experiences that are all about the users.

Uttarakhand Foundation Day

Uttarakhand Foundation Day or Uttarakhand Divas is celebrated on November 9 every year. This day is observed to commemorate the state's formation. This day reflects the triumph of the tireless spirit of its people and their rich history.
Uttarakhand is bordered by Tibet to the north, Nepal to the east, the Indian states of Uttar Pradesh to the south, Himachal Pradesh to the west, and northwest.
Uttarakhand was formerly known as Uttaranchal. It was carved out of the hilly regions of Uttar Pradesh and became the 27th state of the Republic of India on November 9, 2000. The quest for a separate state was primarily driven by the unique socio-cultural identity of the region and the developmental needs of its hilly terrain, which were believed to be neglected under the administration of the vast and populous state of Uttar Pradesh. The movement for statehood began in earnest in the early 1990s.

National Legal Services Day

India, annually on November 9, observes National Legal Services Day to mark the adoption of the Legal Services Authorities Act 1987, which was officially enacted on the same date in 1995. Since then, Legal Services Day has been consistently celebrated across the various states of India with the primary objective of promoting legal awareness among its citizens.
The establishment of National Legal Services Day serves to raise awareness about the availability of free legal aid for all citizens, regardless of their background or identity. This nationwide celebration takes place on November 9 every year.
In 1995, the Supreme Court of India enacted the Legal Services Authorities Act with the primary objective of extending legal support to marginalised sections of society. This significant legislation was officially passed on November 9, 1995, and since then, it has been commemorated as National Legal Services Day.

World Radiography Day

World Radiography Day is celebrated annually on November 8. The vital day serves as a global tribute to a ground-breaking discovery that revolutionised the field of healthcare and medicine.
World Radiography Day is observed each year on November 8 to commemorate the discovery of x-radiation by German physicist Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen in 1895. Rontgen was the first recipient of the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1901.
The European Society of Radiology (ESR), the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), and the American College of Radiology (ACR) collaborated to celebrate the first World Radiography Day in 2012.
The theme for World Radiography Day 2023 is 'Celebrating patient safety'. The theme emphasises the importance of the professional role in maintaining the efficiency of healthcare systems and in ensuring patient safety beyond radiation protection.
