AIIMS-Nagpur's Viral Research Lab Wins Award

  • The Viral Research and Diagnostic Laboratory at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS)-Nagpur, conferred with the best medical college award (silver category).
  • The award was given at the prestigious National Viral Research & Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) Conclave 2025, held at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi.
  • The conclave inaugurated by Anupriya Patel, Union minister of state for health and family welfare, in the presence of Dr Rajiv Bahl, director general, ICMR, Dr Anu Nagar, joint secretary, DHR, and Dr Nivedita Gupta, scientist-D, ICMR.
  • The VRDL Awards presented in three categories — regional level, state level, and medical college level — to recognise excellence in diagnostic capability, research, and innovation.
  • AIIMS-Nagpur's VRDL received the medical college level award after a comprehensive evaluation of its testing capacity, NABL accreditation status, quality assurance practices, scientific research and publications, expenditure utilisation, training and human resource development, technological innovations, and advanced sequencing and culture facilities.

  • Bureau of Energy Efficiency announced the introduction of a new category under National Energy Conservation Awards (NECA) 2025 called National Energy Conservation Awards for Content Creators and Influencers.
  • Ministry of Power said in a statement that this initiative seeks to harness the power of digital media in spreading awareness on energy efficiency, conservation, and sustainable living practices.
  • It aims to engage content creators and influencers in promoting energy-efficient behavior and encouraging citizens to adopt simple, actionable measures in their daily lives.
  • The National Energy Conservation Awards were instituted in 1991. The awards evolved into one of the most prestigious platforms for recognizing excellence in energy conservation across industries, establishments, buildings, and institutions.
  • Over the past three decades, NECA has played a pivotal role in inspiring organizations to adopt best practices in energy efficiency and significantly contributed to India's sustainable development goals.
  • NECA has expanded its ambit to the digital community for the first time with the launch of the Content Creators and Influencers category.
