India's Rahi Sarnobat won gold medal in women's 25 metres pistol event at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup.
Rahi shot 39 out of 50 in the 25m pistol final to win the first gold for India in the ongoing World Cup.
Manu Bhaker, the other Indian in fray, finished seventh in the eight-competitor final.
Mathilde Lamolle of France shot 31 in the final to win silver while Russia's Vitalina Batsarashkina took home bronze with a total of 28.

Zhang Zhizhen First Chinese Man to qualify for Wimbledon Draw in Open Era
Zhang Zhizhen is the first man representing China to earn a spot in the main draw at Wimbledon in the Open era, which began in 1968 when professionals were admitted to Grand Slam tennis tournaments.
Zhang won three matches in qualifying rounds for Wimbledon, capped by a victory over Francisco Cerundolo of Argentina.
Zhang is ranked 178th. He failed in three previous attempts to qualify at Grand Slam tournaments.

Sajan Prakash became the first-ever Indian swimmer to qualify for the Olympic Games by breaching the 'A' standard time, clocking 1:56:38 seconds in the men's 200 m butterfly event at the Sette Colli Trophy in Rome, Italy.
Prakash also rewrote his own national record of 1:56.96s that he had set last week at the Belgrade Trophy swimming competition.
This will be Prakash's second successive Olympics, having represented India in the 2016 Rio Games.

Opener Shafali Verma became the youngest Indian cricketer to make debut across formats after being picked for the first ODI against England Women.
On her ODI debut, Verma scored 15 runs off 14 balls before being dismissed by Katherine Brunt.
The Haryana girl took 17 years and 150 days to make her debut across formats, making her the fifth youngest cricketer overall in the list, headed by Afghanistan's Mujeeb Ur Rahman.

The Indian duo of Saurabh Chaudhary and Manu Bhaker clinched the silver medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event at the ISSF Shooting World Cup.
Already assured of a silver, the Indian duo was on par with Russia's Vitalina Batsarashkina and Artem Chernousov at 12-12 before losing the last two series to go down 12-16.
Representing the other Indian team in the same event, Yashaswini Singh Deswal and Abhishek Verma missed out on a bronze medal.

Andy Murray Picked for British Team to Defend Gold
Two-time defending champion Andy Murray will attempt to win his third consecutive Olympic gold medal after being named to the British team. Murray will compete in singles and doubles at the Tokyo Olympics, his fourth games overall. Murray is the only men's player with two gold medals in singles. He beat Argentina's Juan Martin del Potro in the final at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games after topping Roger Federer in straight sets for gold at the 2012 London Olympics.

Ronaldo Becomes Joint Top-scorer in Men's International Football
Portugal striker Cristiano Ronaldo has become the joint top-scorer in men's international football.
He achieved the feat in Portugal's Euro 2020 game against France at the Puskas Arena in Budapest.
Ronaldo scored two goals from the spot against France and as a result, he now has 109 goals from 176 matches for Portugal.
The striker is currently tied with Iran's legend Ali Daei, who also scored 109 goals from 149 matches.

Seasoned Indian golfer Anirban Lahiri qualified for his second successive Olympic Games by grabbing the last available spot in the final Tokyo Games Rankings for men.
The Indian made the cut at the 60th spot, the last quota available as per the Games rankings.
Lahiri is lone Indian golfer in the men's field as of now and women player Aditi Ashok should also comfortably make the grade as she currently is 44th on the list.
