Purple Fest at Rashtrapati Bhavan Celebrates Divyangjan Talent

Rashtrapati Bhavan hosted Purple Fest on 13 March 2026 to recognise the talent, achievements and dreams of Divyangjan. The day promoted inclusion, respect and awareness about their abilities. Thousands of participants joined the celebration and enjoyed activities designed for them. During the day, more than 8,000 Divyangjan visited Amrit Udyan, which was opened exclusively for them on this day. In the evening, the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, attended the festival at the Open Air Theatre in the President’s Estate. She watched cultural performances presented by talented Divyangjan artists, underscoring the government’s commitment to empowering persons with disabilities and broadening public access to national spaces.

National Conference on Women Elected Representatives held under Sashakt Panchayat-Netri Abhiyan

Global Conference on Women in Agri-Food Systems (GCWAS–2026) begins in New Delhi

The Global Conference on Women in Agri-Food Systems (GCWAS–2026) runs from 12 to 14 March 2026 at the ICAR Convention Centre, NASC Complex, New Delhi. Organised by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) with national and international partners, the three-day event emphasises women’s roles in agriculture and aims to advance gender-inclusive development in agri-food systems. The conference will be inaugurated by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, with Shivraj Singh Chouhan as Guest of Honour and Annapurna Devi as Chief Guest for the valedictory. This edition coincides with the United Nations’ declaration of 2026 as the International Year for Women Farmers.
