MP Cabinet Approves Law to Give Life Imprisonment to Food Adulterators

Madhya Pradesh Cabinet approved a Penal Law (Madhya Pradesh Amendment) Bill, 2021 to give life imprisonment to food adulterators.
Informing about it, the state's Home Minister Narottam Mishra said, "Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has approved Penal Law (Madhya Pradesh Amendment) Bill, 2021 to give life imprisonment to food adulterators."
It is noteworthy, in December 2019, an awareness rally was held in Bhopal to fight the menace of adulteration. The rally saw the participation of the people of all age groups. The rally was held from Roshanpura to Lal Parade in the capital city. The enthusiastic volunteers were heard raising slogans against adulteration and demanded pure food products.

Punjab Cabinet Approves Mission 'Lal Lakir' in All Villages

The Punjab Cabinet has approved the implementation of the mission 'Lal Lakir' aimed at facilitating villagers to monetise property rights and availing benefits provided by government departments, institutions and banks in all villages across the state. As no record of rights is available for such properties within the 'Lal Lakir', the same cannot currently be monetised as per the real value of the property and no mortgages can be created on such properties.
The right of record of properties within 'Lal Lakir' in the villages of the state will be prepared with the cooperation of the government of India under the SVAMITVA (Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas) scheme.
This will enable mapping the land, households, habitation and all other areas falling within 'Lal Lakir'. It will go a long way in improving the living standard of villagers and boosting their self-esteem.

Cabinet Approves PLI Scheme for Pharmaceuticals, IT Hardware

The Union Cabinet approved the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for the pharmaceuticals and IT hardware sectors, entailing an outlay of Rs. 15,000 crore and Rs. 7,350 crore, respectively.
The PLI scheme for pharmaceuticals, whose duration is for nine years from 2020-21 till 2028-29, will benefit domestic manufacturers, help create employment and is expected to contribute to the availability of a wider range of affordable medicines for consumers.
The scheme also aims to create global champions from India that have the potential to grow in size and scale using cutting edge technology and thereby penetrate global value chains.

Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Yojana

Under the Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Yojana, the UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated 'path pradarshak', a free coaching facility for students across the state. The initiative is meant to provide free coaching for aspirants of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), and other exams.
The Yojana is aimed towards facilitating coaching benefits for those who do not have enough resources and money to buy one. So, those who are interested in availing the benefit of this scheme can register themselves through their online website.

Govt. Launches National Urban Digital Mission

The Central government launched the National Urban Digital Mission to create a digital infrastructure for cities in the country.
The Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry (MoHUA) said that the move will institutionalise a citizen-centric and ecosystem-driven approach to urban governance and service delivery in cities by 2022, and across all cities and towns by 2024.
Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Minister of Electronics and IT Ravi Shankar Prasad launched the National Urban Digital Mission' (NUDM) at a virtual event.
Other initiatives -- India Urban Data Exchange (IUDX), SmartCode, Smart Cities 2.0 website, and Geospatial Management Information System (GMIS) -- were also launched at the event.

Delhi Govt. Makes Regulatory Process Easier for pvt Schools to Gain Recognition

The Delhi government has made it slightly easier for private schools to get recognition or extension of their provisional recognition, reducing the number of regulatory compliance parameters from 91 to 73.
At present, private schools' requests for recognition, upgradation or extension of provisional recognition are examined on 91 compiled checkpoints by the Directorate of Education.
Now, these checkpoints have been clubbed to make the process easier, and minimising regulatory compliance burden.
Now onwards, all cases of recognition, upgradation, extension of provisional recognition of private schools shall be examined as per clubbed 73 checkpoints.
The checkpoints on basis of which schools are examined include number of classrooms, library and laboratories facility, playgrounds, drinking water supply, separate toilets for boys and girls, among other criteria.
