Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched two innovative, customer-centric initiatives of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the retail direct scheme and the integrated ombudsman scheme.
The RBI Retail Direct Scheme is aimed at enhancing access to the government securities market for retail investors.
It offers them a new avenue for directly investing in the securities issued by the Centre and the state governments. The investors will be able to easily open and maintain their government securities accounts online with the RBI for free.
The Reserve Bank-Integrated Ombudsman Scheme aims to further improve the grievance redress mechanism for resolving customer complaints against entities regulated by the central bank.

Govt. Decides to Resume MPLAD Fund Scheme
Bowing to the demands from lawmakers, the government decided to restore the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) which was suspended temporarily in April 2020 owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Union Cabinet, at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, decided that the scheme will resume for the remaining part of the 2021-22 financial year and continue till 2025-26 – co-terminus with the period of the 15th Finance Commission.
For the current fiscal, every Member of Parliament will get Rs. 2 crore for development activities in his constituency as against the Rs. 5 crore the lawmakers are entitled to for the full financial year.
The lawmakers will get Rs. 5 crore annually from the next financial year in two instalments of Rs. 2.5 crore each.

Delhi Govt. Launches Shramik Mitra Scheme
The Delhi government launched the Shramik Mitra Scheme to ensure all construction workers in Delhi are informed and able to avail benefits of government schemes. The Shramik Mitra scheme was launched in the presence of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia who said that the scheme will help in spreading awareness of the benefits of several government schemes among workers through Shramik Mitras.
The Shramik Mitra scheme is an initiative by the Delhi Government to ensure that the benefits of all government schemes reach construction workers in Delhi. Under the scheme, around 800 Shramik Mitras will go door-to-door of all construction workers in the national capital to make them aware of several government schemes in the interest of the workers.

Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana
Under "Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana, around 15,000 students have enrolled for coaching classes in the year 2021.
This scheme was launched by Delhi Government. It was launched for various competitive exams at some private centres.
It covers children belonging to economically poor background and marginalised communities.
Besides free coaching, students will also be provided travel stipend amount of Rs 2,500 by Delhi government.
Under it, bright students belonging to SC, ST, OBC and EWS categories are given free coaching for competitive exams, from private coaching centres.
Family whose earnings are less than Rs.8 lakh per annum can avail the benefits of the scheme.

Amit Shah Launches 'Ayushman CAPF' Health Card
Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that the Central government has extended the benefits of the "Ayushman CAPF healthcare scheme" to the personnel of all Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). The scheme was launched in line with the commitment of the Modi govt to ensure healthcare facilities of CAPF personnel so that they can discharge their duties with full concentration.
Under this scheme, CAPF personnel & their families would be able to avail cashless in-patient and out-patient healthcare facilities across the hospitals that come under Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY.
It covers all Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) officials & serving personnel as well as their dependents from seven forces namely, Border Security Forces (BSF), Assam Rifles, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and National Security Guard (NSG).
