Kerala Launches Monthly Stipend Scheme for Junior Lawyers
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated a monthly stipend scheme for junior lawyers in the state. Under the scheme, launched at an event hosted by the Bar Council of Kerala and the Advocates Welfare Trust, junior lawyers will be paid Rs. 3,000 every month.
According to the Kerala government's new scheme, only junior lawyers below 30 years of age are entitled to the monthly stipend. These lawyers must have less than three years of practice and an annual income under Rs. 1 lakh.
The present scheme is based on a state government order dated June 24, 2022, passed in light of the Kerala Advocate Stipend Rules, 2021.

Telangana Govt. to Enact Clinical Establishment Act
The Telangana government is planning to enact the Clinical Establishment Act for regulating private hospitals in the state. State Finance Minister Harish Rao made the announcement in the Assembly during his reply to a discussion on the health department.
The members raised concerns relating to private hospitals over irregularities and imposing hefty charges for treatment. Stating that there is no law to regulate private hospitals in the State, he said the government is planning to enact a new Act to regulate them.
He said that the aim is to improve facilities and provide corporate healthcare for the poor through the government hospitals.

Government Extends PM-KUSUM Scheme till March 2026
The government extended PM-KUSUM scheme till March 2026 as its implementation was significantly affected due to the pandemic.
Launched in 2019, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) is aimed at adding solar capacity of 30,800 MW by 2022 with total central financial support of Rs. 34,422 crore, including service charges to the implementing agencies.
The scheme consists of three components—Component A is for installation of 10,000 MW of solar capacity by installing small power plants of capacity up to 2 MW, component B aims at installation of 20 lakh standalone solar-powered agriculture pumps and component C is for solarisation of 15 lakh grid-connected agriculture pumps.
