Telangana Government to Turn Ramappa Temple to Spiritual Tourism Hub Following UNESCO Tag
Months after Telangana's Kakatiya Rudreshwara Temple, popularly known as Ramappa temple, made it to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation's (UNESCO) list of World Heritage Sites, the Telangana government is looking to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for the development of the thirteenth-century temple and premises into a spiritual tourism hub.
Following the global recognition, the temple, located at Palampet in Mulugu district, has been selected for development under the Union tourism ministry's 'Prasad' (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive) scheme. After the state government submitted its project concept for the proposed development, a team led by the director-general of the tourism ministry G. Kamala Vardhana Rao visited the temple to understand the proposal and shared their inputs.
Skyview By Empyrean in Patnitop Becomes India's First Sustainable Tourism Destination
Skyview By Empyrean, Patnitop, Jammu and Kashmir, became India's first Sustainable Tourism Destination, as certified by the Responsible Tourism Society of India (RTSOI) for complying with the Union Ministry of Tourism's sustainable and responsible tourism standards for travel destinations.
It was also conferred 'Champion' status, accorded for scores of 90-plus for sustainable eco-friendly tourism practices.
Patnitop is a hilltop tourist destination situated in Udhampur district on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. Situated on a plateau in the Shivalik belt, Patnitop has an altitude of 2,024 m, with the Chenab flowing in close proximity.
The Skyview Patnitop ropeway, the largest Indo-French collaboration in mountain infrastructure, was built in a record 2.4 years under the Public-Private Partnership model. Having started operations in July 2020, it was awarded the best adventure tourism destination within a month. The ropeway has cut travel time between Sanget and Patnitop to 15 minutes from 1.5 hours.

Oyo Appoints Prakash Padariya as Cyber Security Head
Online hotel aggregator Oyo announced the appointment of Prakash Padariya as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for IT and security teams. In his role in Oyo, Padariya will helm a security strategy for the company's systems globally, including regions such as India, SEA, Europe, US and the UK.
He would be also responsible for leveraging technologies such as big data analytics and artificial intelligence to enhance cyber security functions from the ground up.
Padariya's last stint was in the Netherlands headquarters of online payment solutions provider PayU, where he was in a similar role.

IndiGo Partners with MakeMyTrip for Holiday Offerings
Budget carrier IndiGo partnered with online travel services firm MakeMyTrip for its holiday offerings for both domestic and international travellers.
Under the collaboration, IndiGo passengers will be offered a wide choice of airline and hotel packages to various segments of travellers ranging from leisure, pilgrimage, adventure and business.
IndiGo would use its extensive flights inventory across the network in conjunction with MakeMyTrip's vast inventory of hotels and activities, to offer holiday packages under 6E Holidays.

Indian Hotels Expands Presence in Uttarakhand with New Resort
Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) announced the addition of its second hotel in Rishikesh with the signing of a new SeleQtions resort.
The formerly operating resort will be rebranded as Anand Kashi, an IHCL SeleQtions resort post renovation.
The 24-room resort is located at the foothills of the Himalayas in the Tehri Garhwal region of Uttarakhand.
With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will have seven hotels across brands, including three under development in Uttarakhand.

Kerala's First Caravan Park to Come Up in Vagamon
Kerala's first Caravan park is all set to come up in Vagamon, a scenic hill station located in Idukki district.
The park, first of its kind in Kerala, as part of the state government's new Caravan Tourism policy, would be thrown open to travellers on February 25.
Caravan Tourism was introduced by the state Tourism department as a safe means for holidaying at a time when people are unable to step out or travel due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
Under the initiative, there will be two types of caravans. In one model, two guests shall be accommodated, while the other is for a family of four. The tourism caravans would have all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay such as sofa-cum-bed, kitchenette with fridge and microwave oven, dining table, toilet cubicle, partition behind the driver, air-conditioner, internet connectivity, audio-video facilities, charging system and GPS.
