Indo-Pacific Regional Dialogue (IPRD) 2021 was organized as a three-day online event on 27, 28 and 29 October 2021. IPRD 2021 focused on the theme 'Evolution in Maritime Strategy during the 21st Century: Imperatives, Challenges and Way Ahead'. It will focus on eight specific sub-themes.
The National Maritime Foundation is the Indian Navy's knowledge partner for IPRD 2021. It is also the Indian Navy's chief organiser for IPRD 2021.
Indo-Pacific Regional Dialogue (IPRD) is the apex international annual conference of the Indian Navy. It was first conducted in 2018.
IPRD aims to review both opportunities and challenges that arise within the Indo-Pacific.
Rajnath Singh Chairs Ambassadors' Round Table for DefExpo 2022
In a major outreach to the friendly foreign countries as also to the defence manufacturing industries of the world, Raksha Mantri, Rajnath Singh chaired the Ambassadors' Round Table for Def Expo 2022, in New Delhi. DefExpo 2022 will be Asia's largest defence exhibition. The Round Table was aimed to brief the Ambassadors of foreign missions about the planning, arrangements and other details of DefExpo 2022, which will be held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat between March 10-13, 2022.
More than 200 delegates, including Ambassadors, Heads of Missions and Defence Attaches attended the Round Table, reflecting the growing global interest in the Indian Defence space.

International Internet Day is celebrated on October 29 every year across the world to celebrate the usage of the internet for the first time. The day marks the sending of the first electronic message which was transferred from one computer to another in 1969. At that time the Internet was known as ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network).
Charley Kline, a student programmer at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), transmitted the first-ever electronic message 'LO' on October 29, 1969.
The first International Internet Day was celebrated on October 29, 2005, to celebrate this momentous event in the history of telecommunications and technology.

National Tribal Dance Festival in Chhattisgarh
National Tribal Dance Festival was held in Raipur in October 22021.
The festival was be held at Science College Ground, under the Tourism Development plan of Chhattisgarh government.
It was a three-day National Tribal Dance Festival.
Festival witnessed participation of Tribal Dance Groups from several states and union territories of India.
International participants also took part in the festival, portraying and celebrating the tribal folk culture of their respective country.
National Tribal Dance Festival featured multiple artists belonging to diverse tribal communities from different parts of India. Artists from countries like Kingdom of Eswatini, Nigeria, Uzbekistan, Uganda, Sri Lanka, Mali, Syria, and Palestine also took part in the event.
First edition of the National Tribal Dance Festival was organised in the year 2019. It witnessed the participation of tribal communities from 25 states of India along with six guest countries.

World Day for Audiovisual Heritage 2021
The World Day for Audiovisual Heritage is observed on October 27, every year.
Audio-visual Heritage Day is observed with the aim of raising general awareness among people related to the need of taking urgent measures.
The day also acknowledges the significance of audio-visual documents.
It also brings the priceless heritage of these documents to notice, telling the stories of lives & cultures from across the world.
The day also sensitizes people across the world for conserving and safeguarding valuable audio-visual resources for future generations.
The Audio-visual Heritage Day 2021 was observed under the theme "Your Window to the World". The theme highlights that, audio-visual sources provide a window in the form of documentary heritage objects, to the world.
This day was adopted by the 21st General Conference of the recommendations, in the year 1980, in a bid to safeguard and preserve the moving images. The day was declared by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural organization) on October 27, 2005.
India-Sweden Celebrate Innovation Day
India and Sweden celebrated the 8th Innovation Day on October 26. During the online event they discussed several aspects of climate change and possible solutions to bring in green transition.
The one-day event was divided into nine parts for discussing several aspects of climate change. Both sides also discussed possible solutions to initiate green transition.
In the session, they also exchanged the ideas for implementing digital technology and Artificial Intelligence in order to introduce climate-friendly solutions.
The online event was organised under the theme 'Accelerating India Sweden's Green Transition'.
India Sweden Innovation Day was hosted by "India Unlimited" in collaboration with the Embassy of India in Sweden, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Sweden-India Business Council.
Indian Army Celebrates 75th Infantry Day
The Indian Army celebrates October 27 every year as the 'Infantry Day'. This year (2021) the nation celebrated its 75th Infantry Day on October 27, 2021. On this day that the 1st Battalion of the Sikh Regiment landed at Srinagar airbase and displayed resoluteness and extraordinary courage and became 'The Wall' to thwart the evil designs of the Pakistan Army, who had invaded Kashmir with the help of tribal raiders in 1947.
Infantry Day is celebrated as a remembrance of the first military event of independent India, when the First Battalion of the Sikh Regiment of Indian Army fought a battle to accomplish victory over the first attack on the Indian soil by the Pakistan Army and Lashkar invader on October 27, 1947, in the Kashmir valley, who tried to grab J&K.

Fourth General Assembly of International Solar Alliance (ISA)
Fourth general assembly of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) was held virtually in October 2021.
Assembly was presided by Union Minister of Power, New & Renewable Energy, R.K. Singh and President of ISA Assembly.
108 countries participated in the ISA Assembly, including 34 observer & prospective countries and 74 Member Countries.
It was also participated by 23 Partner Organizations and 33 Special Invitee Organisations.
During the meeting countries discussed that how MSME clusters can replace diesel gensets with hydrogen.
Discussion was focused on how ISA's waste management programme will be significant for the growing volume of waste & toxic materials, high cost of waste treatment and lack of waste specific legislation.
They also discussed an update on One Sun One World One Grid (OSOWOG) initiative. This concept of a single global grid for solar was proposed at First Assembly of the ISA in 2018.
During the assembly, countries launched two new programmes namely- Management of Solar PV panels & battery usage waste and Solar Hydrogen programme.

Raising day of Indo Tibetan Border Police
Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) observed its raising Day on 24th October. The ITBP was raised in the aftermath of the 1962 Chinese aggression and it has a strength of about 90,000 personnel with 60 battalions on the ground.
ITBP is one of the five bodies of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). It keeps Vigil on the northern borders and prevents border violations. It checks illegal immigration, trans-border smuggling, and maintains peace.
World Development Information Day
The United Nations celebrates World Development Information Day every year on October 24.
The UN General Assembly in 1972 established the World Development Information Day to direct people's attention toward developmental problems and the need to strengthen international cooperation to solve them.
The main aim of this day is to propagate information and mobilise public opinion in order to draw their attention and create awareness of the problems surrounding development, promoting efforts in the field of international cooperation for growth and development.
