Eminent Hindi Poet and Journalist Manglesh Dabral Passes Away
Eminent Hindi poet and journalist Manglesh Dabral passed away at the age of 72.
Manglesh Dabral was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2000 for his poetry collection 'Ham Jo Dekhte Hain'.
Dabral was a prolific writer and has several collections in poetry as well as prose. His poetry collections include Pahar Par Lalten, Ghar Ka Rasta, Ham Jo Dekhte Hain, Awaz Bhi Ek Jagah Hai and Naye Yug Men Shatru.
His prose collections include Lekhak Ki Roti and Kavi Ka Akelapan, besides a travel diary Ek Bar Iowa.

Anil Soni First CEO of The WHO Foundation
Indian-origin global health expert Anil Soni has been appointed as the first Chief Executive Officer of the newly launched The WHO Foundation. The newly launched The WHO Foundation works alongside the World Health Organization to address the most pressing health challenges across the world.
Soni will take charge as the CEO of The WHO Foundation on January 1 next year.
The WHO Foundation is an independent grant-making agency headquartered in Geneva. It was launched in May 2020 to work alongside the World Health Organization (WHO) and the global health community to address the world's most pressing global health challenges.

RBL Bank Appoints Somnath Ghosh as Non- Executive Director
RBL Bank appointed Somnath Ghosh as an Additional (Non-Executive Independent) Director of the Bank.
Ghosh is a retired Professor & Founding Dean (Academics) from Indian Institute of Management, Kashipur. Before that, he was also a professor and Chair of the doctoral program at the Management Development Institute in Gurgaon.
He has also been a regular faculty at IIMs in Lucknow, Bangalore and Indore, International Management Institute, New Delhi, as well as the Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad.

J&K Ex-interlocutor Passes Away
Administrator of Lakshadweep and former J&K interlocutor Dineshwar Sharma passed away. He was 64.
Sharma, a former director of the Intelligence Bureau, was appointed as the administrator of Lakshadweep in October 2019.
Prior to this, he was an interlocutor for the Centre to Jammu and Kashmir.
Sharma was a 1976-batch IPS officer and belonged to the Kerala cadre.

Former French President Giscard d'Estaing Passes Away
Former President Valery Giscard d`Estaing, who championed European integration and helped modernise French society in the 1970s, died at the age of 94 after contracting COVID-19.
He had been admitted to hospital in September with respiratory complications, and was hospitalised again in mid-November.
Giscard was elected president in 1974 at the age of 48 to become France`s youngest postwar leader.
He sought to liberalise France`s economy, was the father of France`s high-speed TGV network, and projected the image of a young, modern President who was closer to the people than his predecessors.
Giscard served one term as President, losing his re-election bid to Socialist Francois Mitterrand in the aftermath of the global economic downturn of the 1970s.
