Pre-Independence Award to 1944 film Ram Shastri Discovered at FTII
A cleaning drive at India's premier film school Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) has unexpectedly yielded a gem from history—an award certificate conferred on Ram Shastri, one of the first biopics produced in the country 76 years ago.
The pre-Independence award would now be showcased at the Prabhat Museum, according to FTII officials.
Ram Shastri, in 1944, was no less than a sensation as it swept one film award after another.
According to a person aware of the development, an award certificate presented to the Prabhat Film Company for Ram Shastri in 1944 was recently found in FTII's Prabhat Studio at Pune.

Arushi Bags International Solar Alliance (ISA) Diwakar Solar Award 2020
Bhopal's Arushi bagged International Solar Alliance (ISA) Diwakar Solar Award 2020 in a virtual award ceremony. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was also present in the ceremony.
As part of its efforts to recognise exemplary efforts by organisations in India, the ISA is instituting the Diwakar Solar Award (Divyang Akshay-urja Puraskar).
The ISA- Diwakar Solar Award has been institutionalized with the gracious support of Piyush Goyal, Minister of Railways and Commerce and Industry Government of India.

Aishwarya Sridhar First Indian Woman to Win Wildlife Photographer of the Year Award
Aishwarya Sridhar became the first Indian to win the Wildlife Photographer of the Year award. The announcement was the Natural History Museum in London.
It is the 56th year of the prestigious award.
Aishwarya Sridhar's photo won among 50,000 entries from over 80 countries across the world. Only 100 images were shortlisted and she won the award for her photograph in the Behaviour Invertebrates category.
The image is named 'Lights of passion' and was captured using one of Canon's premium DSLRs -- EOS-1DX Mark II.
Aishwarya said that being the first and youngest girl to win this award from India in the Adult category, its a huge honour for me to receive this award.
Aishwarya Sridhar is a wildlife photographer, writer and filmmaker by profession. She is also a conservationist.

Nobel Prize for Economics, 2020
The Nobel Prize for Economics, 2020 was awarded to Paul R Milogrom and Robert B. Wilson. They were awarded for improvements to Auction Theory and also for inventing new auction formats. The prize is also called Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel.
The theory formulated by Milgrom allowed calculating common and private values that vary from bidder to bidder.
Auction Theory is an applied branch of economics that speaks of people action in auction markets. It deals with how people research the properties of auction markets. The theory is more suited for auctions for privatisation of public-sector companies or sale of electromagnetic spectrum.

Kerala Girl Cooks Her Way into Record Books
A 10-year-old girl dished out 30 plus scrumptious food items, including corn fritters, 'uttapam,' fried rice and chicken roast, in less than one hour, earning her a place in record books.
The amazing feat by Saanvi M. Prajit, daughter of Wing Commander of Indian Air Force Prajit Babu and Manjma hailing from Ernakulam, was recognised by the Asia Book of Records and the India Book of Records.
Her records have been established for the maximum number of dishes prepared by a child.
The Asia Book of Records authorities watched online the cookery event organised at her Visakhapatnam residence.
Besides, two gazetted officers were witness to the cooking of 33 items in an hour by Saanvi.
PM Modi to Release Commemorative Coin in Honour of Vijaya Raje Scindia
Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a commemorative coin of 100 rupees in honour of Vijaya Raje Scindia through a virtual ceremony.
One of the founder members of BJP, Vijaya Raje Scindia is popularly known as the Rajmata of Gwalior. The coin was released in celebration of birth centenary of Vijaya Raje Scindia.
The special commemorative coin was minted by the Finance Ministry as a part of these celebrations.
Vijaya Raje Scindia was elected to Lok Sabha 7 times and twice to the Rajya Sabha.
