Filmmaker Satish Kaushik passed away at the age of 66. The well known actor was in Delhi for Holi celebrations when he was rushed to the hospital after feeling unwell. He passed away enroute to the Fortis Hospital in Gurugram.
As a film actor, Satish Kaushik was known for his roles as Calendar in the 1987 superhero film, Mr. India, as Pappu Pager in Deewana Mastana (1997), and as Chanu Ahmed in the British film Brick Lane (2007), directed by Sarah Gavron.
Satish Kaushik also won the Filmfare Best Comedian Award in 1990 for Ram Lakhan and in 1997 for Saajan Chale Sasural.
He penned the dialogues for the 1983 classic "Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron", which acquired a cult following over the years. He is known for his comic roles as `Calendar` in "Mr. India", "Pappu Pager" in "Deewana Mastana" among many others. Kaushik also gave sterling performances in other films like "Ram Lakhan" and "Saajan Chale Sasural".

Eminent Odisha Scientist P. K. Jena Passes Away
Noted scientist from Odisha and former Director General of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) P. K. Jena passed away.
Jena, a Padma Shree awardee, had established the science foundation in Odisha. He was the first Odia to become the DG of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, and also played a leading role in establishing several institutions in the state.
With his sustained research, he has pioneered new waste management processes as well as metal value recovery processes from industrial and mining wastes.

Former Diplomat, Padma Bhushan Awardee Chandrashekhar Dasgupta Passes Away
Chandrashekhar Dasgupta, former Indian diplomat and the recipient of Padma Bhushan, passed away at the age of 82. During his almost four-decade-long career, he served as the ambassador to the European Union, Belgium, Luxembourg and China.
He joined the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) in 1962. He was the high commissioner to Singapore between 1981 and 1984 and Tanzania between 1984 and 1986. Dasgupta also held the vice-chair of the preparatory committees of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), popularly known as the Earth Summit, held in Rio de Janeiro in 1992.
In 2008, he was awarded the third-highest civilian honour, the Padma Bhushan, for his work in Indian civil service.

PepsiCo owned snacking brand Kurkure named Bollywood star Sara Ali Khan as the new brand ambassador, replacing actor Akshay Kumar.
Kurkure, a snacking brand developed in India is one of the eight power brands within PepsiCo India's portfolio. PepsiCo sells both beverages and foods in India.
PepsiCo also sells salty snacks under Doritos and Lay's. Kurkure is also manufactured and sold in countries like the UAE, Canada, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.

Former CJI Aziz Mushabber Ahmadi Dies
Former Chief Justice of India Aziz Mushabber Ahmadi passed away. He was 90.
Ahmadi became the Chief Justice with effect from October 25, 1994. Justice Ahmadi, third Muslim ever to serve as CJI, demitted office on March 24, 1997.
Born in March 1932 in Surat, Ahmadi was appointed Judge, City Civil & Sessions Court, Ahmedabad in March, 1964.
He was appointed secretary to the Gujarat government's legal department in June, 1974.
Ahmadi was appointed as a judge in the Gujarat High Court in September 1976.
He also served as president of the Supreme Court Legal Aid Committee and as the executive chairman of the Committee for Implementing Legal Aid Schemes in India from November 1, 1990 to October 24, 1994.
He also served as Chancellor at the Aligarh Muslim University for two terms.
