All India Thal Sainik Camp 2025 Concludes in Delhi

  • With the participation of 1,547 cadets representing 17 National Cadet Corps (NCC) Directorates from across the country, the 'All India Thal Sainik Camp-2025' concluded at the DGNCC Camp, Delhi Cantt. in September 2025.
  • The camp involved various competitions, including Weapon firing, Map Reading, judging distance & field signal and Health & Hygiene events that challenged the cadets' physical and mental capabilities.

Chief of the Naval Staff Commissions the Navy's New Communications Base INS Aravali

  • Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi commissioned the Navy's new communications base INS Aravali in Gurugram.
  • INS Aravali, deriving its name from the unwavering Aravali range, shall support various information and communication centres of the Indian Navy, which are key to India's and the Indian Navy's command, control and Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) framework.
  • Guided by the motto 'Maritime Security through Collaboration', the Naval Base exemplifies a supportive and collaborative ethos, working seamlessly with naval units, MDA centres and allied stakeholders, said the official in a statement.

Defence Company Avantel Receives Order Worth Rs. 9.88 Crore from Department of Atomic Energy

  • Avantel Limited, a defence and aerospace technology company headquartered in Visakhapatnam with a corporate office in Hyderabad, further strengthened its order book with a significant new contract from the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE).
  • The company received an amended purchase order worth Rs. 9.88 crore (inclusive of taxes) for the supply of goods, with a delivery timeline extending until September 30, 2026.

  • Conducted under realistic battlefield conditions, the exercise represented a significant advancement in operational preparedness by effectively integrating drones across both tactical and operational dimensions.
  • The central focus of the exercise was the development and validation of new Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) suited for future battlefields.

Indra and Tata Advance Systems Commission First Lanza Naval 3D Air Surveillance Radar System for ...

  • Indra, a leading global technology and consulting companies and world leader in engineering technology for aerospace, defence and mobility business headquartered in Spain, in collaboration with Tata Advanced Systems Limited, one of India's leading aerospace and defence company, successfully delivered and commissioned the first 3D-ASR – Lanza-N, aboard an Indian Navy warship.
  • Indra's Lanza-N is one of the most advanced long-range, three-dimensional tactical surveillance system capable of detecting friendly and hostile Air and Surface targets within a particular coverage space. The radar is highly effective in detecting various types of drones, supersonic fighters, and anti-radiation missiles as well as all types of naval platforms. This is the first time that a Lanza-N radar would be operational outside Spain.

Multilateral Joint Military Exercise ZAPAD 2025

  • An Indian Armed Forces contingent is participating in the multilateral joint military exercise ZAPAD 2025 that is being held in Russia. The seven-day exercise aims to enhance military cooperation, improve interoperability, and provide a platform for participating armies to exchange tactics, techniques, and procedures in the domains of conventional warfare and counter-terrorism operations. 
  • The Indian Army contingent is being led by a battalion of the KUMAON Regiment, along with troops from other arms and services. The contingent comprises 57 Indian Army personnel, seven from the Indian Air Force, and one from the Indian Navy.
  • The exercise will focus on joint company level operations in open and plain terrain, wherein troops will undertake missions ranging from joint planning, tactical drills, and special arms skills.
  • More than 20 countries, including China, are taking part in this multinational exercise.
  • Cambodia, China, Cuba, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nicaragua, North Korea, Pakistan, Serbia, Thailand, the UAE, and Uzbekistan are observers. 
  • It is for the first time since Operation Sindoor, the Indian and Pakistani armies are participating in the same military drill. The exercise concludes on September 16.
