Zuppa Geo Navigation Inks Agreement with IIT Madras, Indian Air Force to Undertake Defence R&D
Chennai-based deep tech firm Zuppa Geo Navigation Technologies, in 2025, announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IIT-Madras and the 8 Base Repair Depot (8 BRD) of the Indian Air Force, to jointly undertake in-house Research & Development (R&D) in defence technologies.
The partnership will leverage the deep-tech expertise of Zuppa Geo Navigation Technologies in UAVs and navigation systems with the research and innovation ecosystem of IIT-Madras, and the operational experience and domain knowledge of the Indian Air Force's 8 BRD.
Through the MoU, the three stakeholders will focus on developing practical solutions that enhance operational efficiency, autonomy, and resilience in defence aviation and related systems.

Goodluck India Signs Tripartite Agreement to Bid for DRDO's Aircraft Programme
Special steel maker Goodluck India, in October 2025, announced a tripartite agreement to jointly bid for defence research organisation DRDO's advanced medium combat aircraft programme.
It signed the agreement with BrahMos Aerospace Thiruvananthapuram Ltd (BATL) and Axiscades Technologies.
Goodluck India signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly bid for the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO)'s Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme.

Indian Army's Golden Arrow Division Commemorates Diamond Jubilee of 1965 Victory at Asal Uttar
In Punjab, the Golden Arrow Division of Indian Army commemorated the Diamond Jubilee of India's victory over Pakistan during the India-Pakistan War of 1965 at Asal Uttar, in Tarn Taran. Tributes were paid to the gallant soldiers whose indomitable courage and supreme sacrifice during the Battle of Asal Uttar and Battle of Barki turned the tide of the 1965 War in favour of the Nation.
Asal Uttar is the historic battlefield, remembered as the 'Graveyard of Patton Tanks,' as Indian Army destroyed over 95 Patton tanks and others here during the 1965 war.
Lt Gen Virendra Vats Takes Charge as Director General of NCC
Lieutenant General Virendra Vats assumed charge as the Director General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in 2025. Ministry of Defence said that Lieutenant General Vats was commissioned into 19 KUMAON Regiment of the Indian Army in December 1988 and served as the Commandant at the Defence Services Staff College in Wellington. He succeed Lieutenant General Gurbirpal Singh.
9th Meeting of India-Uzbekistan Joint Working Group on Counter Terrorism
The 9th meeting of India-Uzbekistan Joint Working Group on Counter Terrorism held in Tashkent in 2025. The meeting was co-chaired by Dr. Vinod J. Bahade, Joint Secretary (Counter Terrorism), Ministry of External Affairs and Mr. Gulomjon Pirimkulov, Head of Department for Cooperation with South Asia, Middle East and Africa of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
The two sides discussed threats posed by terrorist groups globally and in their respective regions. Both sides exchanged views on current and emerging challenges to counter-terrorism including countering extremism and radicalization, combating financing of terrorism, preventing use of technology for terrorist purposes, nexus between transnational organized crime and terrorism and global movement of terrorists. Both sides condemned the dastardly terrorist attack on innocent civilians on 22 April 2025 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, India.

It added that the service has advanced the country's preparedness in emerging domains such as cyber, artificial intelligence, and space.

BSF Launches AI Powered Command Centre for Border Security
A new command and control system aided by artificial intelligence (AI) and geographic information system (GIS) facilities launched at the BSF headquarters here in September 2025, to "improve" the capability of the force in safeguarding the country's borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh.
The centre is named Decision Support System (DSS) and it will "enhance" the decision-making capability of commanders at all levels.
Harnessing the technological solutions, BSF will be able to meet emerging threats of border security. The centre was inaugurated by BSF Director General (DG) Daljit Singh Chawdhary.
Raksha Mantri Attends the 278th Annual Day of Defence Accounts Department
Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh attended the 278th Annual Day celebration of the Defence Accounts Department in October 2025 in New Delhi. As a part of the Ministry of Defence's Year of Reforms initiatives, Raksha Mantri launched a series of new publications aimed at strengthening institutional capacity of the Controller General of Defence Accounts and enhancing service delivery. India Embassy in Israel Marks 107th Anniversary of Battle of Haifa
The Embassy of India in Israel commemorated the 107th anniversary of the Battle of Haifa, honouring the courage and valour of Indian soldiers of the erstwhile Jodhpur, Mysore and Hyderabad Lancers who liberated Haifa in 1918.
The ceremony was attended by Ambassador J.P. Singh, Haifa Mayor Yona Yahav and other dignitaries. Addressing the gathering, Haifa Mayor, Yona Yahav, said that in every school, we are changing the texts and saying that it wasn't the British but the Indians who liberated us.
