The world's first dual-mode vehicle hit the ground in the town of Kaiyo, Japan. It is said that the vehicle can run on roads as well as rail tracks.
The DMV looks like a minibus and runs on normal rubber tyres on the road. What makes this vehicle different from the rest is, it also has steel wheels in its underbelly which descend when it hits the rail tracks.
The front tyres are lifted off the track and the rear wheels stay down to propel the DMV onto the railway. This feature of effectively changing into a train-like module easily on a rail track is the first of its kind.
Ziyuan-1 02E- China's New Earth Resources Observation Satellite
A new Chinese Earth observation satellite named "Ziyuan-1 02E" was launched into space by China.
The satellite was launched for exploring natural resources.
It also launched a smaller satellite, which will be used for teaching geography at a school in Beijing.
Both the satellites took off from the Taiyuan Launch Center in Sjanxi Province, aboard the Long March 4C rocket.
The satellite, called Ziyuan-1 02E, has been equipped with a high-resolution infrared camera, a long-wavelength infrared camera and a multi-spectrum imager. The satellite is designed for an eight-year lifespan in Earth orbit. It was launched with the objective of mapping the Earth's surface in high resolution to explore the natural resources. Data from satellite will be used to alert for environmental disasters and monitoring water quality.
TCS Successfully Tests Neural Manufacturing Solutions on Airtel 5G Network
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Bharti Airtel Limited (Airtel) announced the successful testing of TCS' neural manufacturing solutions suite on Airtel's ultra-fast 5G network.
Following the allocation of 5G trial spectrum by the Department of Telecommunications, TCS and Airtel partnered to test use cases from TCS' neural manufacturing suite of solutions.
TCS successfully tested two use cases on Airtel's 5G testbed – remote manufacturing operations using robotics, and vision-based quality inspection, demonstrating how TCS' neural manufacturing solutions and 5G technology can transform plant operations, and significantly boost quality, productivity, and safety.

Second Largest in AI Talent Pool, Bengaluru Ranks Fifth in the World
Bengaluru emerged among the top five cities in the world for Artificial Intelligence (AI), at No. 5, according to a study by TIDE Framework and listed by Harvard Business Review (HBR).
The ranking is derived based on a framework of indicators such as talent pool, investments, diversity of talent, the evolution of the country's digital foundations (TIDE). The other cities topping the list are San Francisco, New York, Boston, and Seattle.
Bengaluru is also among the top cities on HBR's list of AI hotspots in the developing world scoring favourably on the cost of living. Other cities included Hyderabad, Jakarta, Lagos, Nairobi, Mexico City, Buenos Aires, and Sao Paulo.
Trace Gas Orbiter Finds Water Ice in Martian Polar Crater
ESA's Trace Gas Orbiter has returned a stunning image of a 4-km- (2.5-mile) wide crater located in Vastitas Borealis, the largest lowland region of Mars.
Trace Gas Orbiter (TGO) arrived at Mars in 2016 and began its full science mission in 2018.
Its key goal is to gain a better understanding of methane and other gases that are present in small concentrations in the Martian atmosphere, but nevertheless could be evidence for possible biological or geological activity.
The spacecraft will also provide data relay services for the second ExoMars mission comprising the Rosalind Franklin rover, when it arrives on Mars in 2023.
TGO is not only providing the best ever inventory of the planet's atmospheric gases, but also returning spectacular images.

James Webb Space Telescope Has Launched
The James Webb Space Telescope, an international partnership between NASA, ESA and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) was launched on an Ariane 5 rocket from Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana, South America. Following launch and separation from the rocket, Webb's mission operations center in Baltimore, the United States, confirmed the spacecraft deployed its solar array and is in good condition, marking the launch a success.
The James Webb Space Telescope, a major space observatory often presented as the successor to the very successful NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope, is designed to answer fundamental questions about the Universe.

NASA's DART Spacecraft Captures Its First Images
Just two weeks after launch, NASA's Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) spacecraft has returned its first images from space.
DART is the first-ever mission dedicated to investigating and demonstrating one method of asteroid deflection by changing an asteroid's motion in space through kinetic impact.
Its target is the binary, near-Earth asteroid system Didymos, composed of the roughly 780-m- (2,560-foot) diameter Didymos and the smaller, approximately 160-m- (530-foot) size moonlet Dimorphos, which orbits Didymos. DART will impact Dimorphos to change its orbit within the binary system.
DART was launched in November 2021, on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Space Launch Complex 4 East at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, the United States.
World's Oldest Family Tree Created Using DNA
Scientists have compiled the world's oldest family tree from human bones interred at a 5,700-year-old tomb in the Cotswolds, UK.
Analysis of DNA from the tomb's occupants revealed the people buried there were from five continuous generations of one extended family.
Most of those found in the tomb were descended from four women who all had children with the same man.
The right to use the site was based on descent from one man.
But people were buried in different parts of the tomb based on the first-generation matriarch they were descended from.
This suggests that the first-generation women held a socially significant place in the memories of this community. The Neolithic tomb, or "cairn", at Hazleton North in Gloucestershire has two L-shaped chambers, one facing north and the other south.

Scientists Discover New Part of the Body
Scientists uncovered a part of the body that had never been described before: a deep layer of muscle in the masseter, which raises the lower jaw and is critical for chewing.
Modern anatomy textbooks describe the masseter muscle as having two layers, one deep and one superficial. "However, a few historical texts mention the possible existence of a third layer as well, but they are extremely inconsistent as to its position," the study authors wrote in a new report. So the team decided to check whether the prominent jaw muscle might have a hidden, super-deep layer, as the historical texts suggest.
International Astronomers in Australia Capture Black Hole Eruption
Astronomers from Curtin University, as part of an international team, have produced the most comprehensive images of the nearest active black hole to earth.
The discovery, published in the Nature Astronomy journal and released to the public, took a deep dive into the black hole at the center of the galaxy Centaurus A, about 12 million light-years away.
Despite being galaxies far away, the erupting black hole extended across a length equal to 16 moons placed side by side in the night sky. However, it is not visible to the naked eye.
