Industrial Investment Scheme

The Tripura's BJP-IPFT government brought an amendment in the industrial investment promotion scheme to invite investments that will open gates for more jobs.
The industrial investment promotion scheme was first initiated in 1995. The scheme was amended in 2002, 2007, 2012 and 2017 and this allowed subsidy for investments in small and medium scale industries.
The current revised scheme would allow subsidy for investments in large scale industries too.
The revised scheme would provide five percent subsidy on interests of bank loans to establish industries here.
It would also fully waive state Goods and Service Taxes under industrial promotion subsidy.
The industrialists would get 25% subsidy on electricity bills in their units.
The state government would bear expenses of the industrial workers' Employees Provident Fund along with providing 10% subsidy each for transportation and export promotion under this revised scheme.

Jagan Starts to Change the Names of Schemes

Two days after taking charge as Andhra Pradesh chief minister, YS Jaganmohan Reddy has begun re-christening welfare schemes named after Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders, including party founder NT Rama Rao and current president N Chandrababu Naidu.
The schemes are being renamed after Jagan's late father and former Chief Minister of combined Andhra Pradesh, Y. S. Rajasekhar Reddy, who was called YSR by his loyalists.
At his oath-taking ceremony itself, Jagan had announced that the pension scheme for senior citizens would from now on be called "YSR Pension Kanuka" (YSR pension gift), not "NTR Bharosa" (NTR support) as earlier.
The subsidised lunch scheme launched by the previous Naidu government will also be renamed. Under this scheme, "Anna NTR Canteen" had been opened in several districts after NT Rama Rao, who was called "anna" (elder brother) by the people. The canteens were painted yellow, the TDP colour.
The Anna NTR Canteen at Narsaraopet in Guntur district was renamed "Rajanna Canteen", apparently after YSR who was also called Rajanna. Although official instructions about this change in name have not yet been issued, workers of Jagan's YSR Congress party chose to go ahead with it.

PM Kisan for All Farmers

The Narendra Modiled National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government unveiled pensions for small traders and farmers, and expanded PM Kisan, the minimum assured income scheme announced in its first term, to include all eligible farmers, two big-ticket announcements just a day after being sworn in for its second term.
The first meeting of the new Cabinet, chaired by Modi, decided to launch two flagship pension schemes, supported entirely by the Centre, to provide a minimum fixed pension of Rs. 3,000 a month for small and marginal farmers and small traders when they reach 60 years.
People between the ages of 18 and 40 are eligible for entry into the schemes.
Under the schemes, all farmers, shopkeepers and retailers, and self employed persons with a GST turnover below Rs. 1.5 crore and aged between 18-40 years can enroll.
According to Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, the scheme will benefit more than 30 million small shopkeepers and traders and secure the lives of 50 million farmers.

NHA to Collaborate with Cancer Grid

In the first such move to bring in uniform standards of patient care to battle cancer, the National Health Authority (NHA) and National Cancer Grid (NCG) signed an MoU under the Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY).
The main objective of this collaboration includes developing uniform standards of patient care for prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer; providing specialised training and education in oncology, and facilitating collaborative basic, translational and clinical research in cancer.

Civic Body Offers Funeral Services

A civic body in Telangana's Karimnagar district has come up with a novel scheme, offering funeral services at a nominal cost of just one rupee, to help the poor perform last rites of their departed family members.
Sardar Ravinder Singh, mayor of Karimnagar Municipal Corporation, announced that the civic body would bear all the expenses required for the last rites of a deceased irrespective of their caste or religion, whether it is cremation or burial.
The scheme, christened as "Antima Yatra" or "Aakhri Safar", will be formally launched on June 15.
