Minority Affairs Minister launched "JaanHaiToJahaanHai" Awareness Campaign

The Minority Affairs Minister, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi launched a nationwide "JaanHaiToJahaanHai" awareness campaign on Corona vaccination for rural and remote areas. The aim of this campaign is to aware people of the Corona vaccination and to crush rumours and apprehensions related to Corona vaccination. It has been launched by the Ministry of Minority Affairs in association with various socio-educational organizations, NGOs, and Women Self Help Groups.
Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi urged members of Central Waqf Council, Maulana Azad Education Foundation, and other social and educational institutions to take part in this awareness campaign. India is running the world's largest Corona vaccination drive.

Odisha Launches Ashirbad Scheme

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched a new scheme -- Ashirbad -- under which those children who lost their parents to Covid-19 in the state will be provided financial assistance on a monthly basis.
Children who lost both their parents or the main earning member of the family on or after April 1, 2020, will be eligible to be covered under the scheme.
As per the announcement, Rs. 2,500 per month will be provided to the children who have lost both parents to Covid-19 and Rs. 1500 per month to those who have lost a single parent to the virus on or after April 1, 2020.
The amount will be transferred to the bank accounts of the guardians/caretakers of such children till they attain the age of 18. The assistance will not be provided in case the child has been adopted.
The beneficiaries will be included under the state government's Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana for availing free medical services and central/state food security scheme.

Bihar Government Extends 'Mukhya Mantri Udyaymi Yojana'

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has launched two ambitious schemes christened as the 'Mukhya Mantri Yuva Udyaymi Yojna' and the 'Mukhya Mantri Mahila Udyami Yojana. Both the schemes launched to promote entrepreneurship among youth and women of all sections under the state's 'Mukhaya Mantri Udyami Yojana scheme. The schemes were promised by the Chief Minister during the 2020 Bihar elections.
Youth and Women-irrespective of caste and creed, wishing to start entrepreneurship, will get a loan of Rs. 10 lakh, in which Rs. 5 lakh would be a grant from the state government and the rest Rs. 5 lakh will come as a loan, refundable in 84 instalments. He also launched a portal on which youth and women from all sections can register themselves for availing of the loan from the government.

Assam to Implement Two-child Policy

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the state government will gradually implement a two-child policy for availing benefits under specific schemes.
Sarma stated that the proposed population control policy will, however, not be applicable in all the schemes in Assam immediately as many of the benefits are offered by the central government.
He said, "There are some schemes for which we cannot impose the two-child policy, like availing free admission in schools and colleges, or houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana."
He added, "But, in case of some schemes, say if a housing scheme is launched by the state government, the two-child norm can be introduced. Slowly in later stages, the population norm will come in every state government scheme."

QCI Launches Indian Certification of Medical Devices Plus Scheme

Quality Council of India (QCI) and Association of Indian Manufacturers of Medical Devices (AiMeD) have launched "Indian Certification of Medical Devices Plus (ICMED) Scheme".
ICMED scheme added further features to the ICMED Scheme that was launched in 2016 for Certification of Medical Devices.
This scheme will undertake verification of quality, safety and efficacy of medical devices.
Scheme has been designed to integrate Quality Management System components and product related quality validation processes by witness testing of products with respect to the defined product standards and specifications.
This is the first such scheme across the world in which quality management systems & product certification standards are integrated with regulatory requirements.
It will be an end-to-end quality assurance scheme for medical devices sector in India and much-needed institutional mechanism to assure the product quality and safety.
QCI was set up in 1997 as public private partnership model based on the model existing in Netherlands. QCI was organised as an independent autonomous body which worked for assuring quality standards across all spheres of economic and social activities. It was established under Societies Registration Act in 1997 to provide accreditation services across different sectors for product, services and persons.
