Haryana to introduce 'One Block, One Product' scheme

To encourage and promote small industries in the rural areas, the Haryana government will soon introduce the 'One Block, One Product' scheme, Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala said.
Under the scheme, the state government plans to connect every block of the state with some industrial vision and the government is working expeditiously on this scheme, he added.
The Deputy Chief Minister informed that in the last one year, Haryana's 'One District, One Product' Scheme which is being implemented under MSME, has come up as a model across the country.

Digital Platform "Kisan Sarathi" Launched

In order to facilitate farmers to get 'right information at right time' in their desired language, a digital platform namely 'KisanSarathi' was launched jointly by Narendra Singh Tomar, Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
This initiative of KisanSarathi empowers farmers with technological interventions to reach farmers in remote areas.
The ICAR Scientists to take-up research on new technological interventions in the area of transportation of farmer's crop from their farm gate to warehouses, markets and the places where they want to sell with minimum damage.
Union IT Minister assured that Ministry of Electronics and IT and Ministry of Communications will always be ready to provide all necessary support to Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying for Empowerment of Farmers. He also mentioned that the Ministry of Railways is making a plan to minimise the time taken for the transportation of crops.

Maharashtra Launches New EV Policy 2021

In a big push to electric vehicles in India, the Maharashtra govt launches the new Electric Vehicle Policy -2021.
The policy announced by the State Environment Minister, Aaditya Thackeray aims to accelerate the adoption of Battery Electric Vehicles in the country.
The new EV policy introduced in Maharashtra is a revision of the 2018 policy. It is introduced with an aim to make Maharashtra the "topmost producer of battery-powered electric vehicles in India."
It also aims for electric vehicles (EVs) to make up 10 percent of all new vehicle registrations, by 2025. For this ambitious mission, the state government has rolled out a Rs. 930 crore policy, valid up to 31st March, 2025. To make this success, EVs will be exempted from road tax and registration charges.

CJI NV Ramana's Innovation to Ensure 'FASTER' Release of Prisoners Granted Bail

Chief Justice N V Ramana-led bench of the Supreme Court on Friday expressed concern that even in the era of internet and Information Technology boom, it seemed jail authorities are relying on ancient mode of communication through pigeons.
The Supreme Court has asked Secretary General of the Supreme Court Sanjeev S Kalgaonkar to consult amicus curiae and senior advocate Dushyant Dave and SG Tushar Mehta for devising a secure direct electronic mode of communication from SC to jails.
Christened as FASTER (Fast and Secure Transmission of Electronic Records), the innovative scheme is conceived for delivery of orders to concerned prisons, District Courts, High Courts, as the case may be, for instantaneous delivery of orders passed by apex court through a secure communication channel.

SC Directs States to Reveal Criteria for Release of Prisoners

The Supreme Court directed that prisoners granted bail or parole as a measure to decongest jails need not surrender till further orders as the threat of the Covid-19 third wave looms large.
The order was passed by a three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) NV Ramana while dealing with a suo motu petition on containing the spread of Covid-19 in prisons.
The bench also directed states to inform within a week on the criteria adopted by the various state high powered committees (HPC) to release prisoners.

Nationwide Campaign 'COVID Teeka Sang Surakshit Van, Dhan aur Uddyam' Launched

Shri Arjun Munda, Minister of Tribal Affairs, virtually launched the nationwide campaign "COVID Teeka Sang Surakshit Van, Dhan aur Uddyam" to accelerate the pace of COVID vaccination among tribals, in India.
Minister of State for Steel, Shri Faggan Singh Kulaste; Ministers of State for Tribal Affairs – Shri Bishweswar Tudu and Smt. Renuka Singh too were present virtually during the launch.
Other dignitaries present during the launch were Shri Pravir Krishna, Managing Director, TRIFED; WHO Representative Dr. Roderico Ofrin; UNICEF India Representative Dr. Yasmin Ali Haque; and senior officers of TRIFED as well as partners of Tribal Affairs Ministry and TRIFED in states.
Shri Munda launched the campaign through video conferencing link-up with field camps in Mandla in Madhya Pradesh and Bastar in Chhattisgarh.
During this, Bastar Collector Shri. Rajat Bansal and Mandla District Collector Smt Harshika Singh gave details about the preparations for vaccination being run in their respective districts.

Cabinet Approves Continuation of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS)

The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved continuation of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) for Development of Infrastructure Facilities for Judiciary for further five years from 01.04.2021 to 31.03.2026 at a total cost of Rs.9000 crore, out of which Central share will be Rs.5357 crore including Rs.50 crore for the Gram Nyayalayas Scheme and their implementationin a Mission Mode through National Mission for Justice Delivery and Legal Reforms.
Several courts are still functioning in rented premises with insufficient space and some in a dilapidated condition without basic amenities. Lack of residential accommodation to all the judicial officers also adversely affects their working and performance. The present Government has remained sensitive to the needs of providing well equipped judicial infrastructure to subordinate judiciary to facilitate administration of justice in a manner that allows easy access and timely delivery of justice to all. Adequacy of judicial infrastructure is critical for reduction of pendency and backlog of cases in Courts.

Government Approves Continuation of AYUSH Mission as Centrally-sponsored Scheme

The Union Cabinet approved the continuation of the National Ayush Mission as a 'Centrally-sponsored scheme' for another five years till 2026. A release issued by the Union government noted that the scheme would continue from April 1, 2021, to March 31, 2026, with a financial implication of Rs. 4,607.30 crore to be spent during the period.
Giving details, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur said the scheme involved the expansion of the Ayush sector to promote the holistic health of Indians.
He said under the scheme, old and traditional medicinal systems would be promoted, and Ayush wellness centres, medical colleges, hospitals and dispensaries set up and upgraded. He said the Cabinet also approved a change of nomenclature and mandate of the North Eastern Institute of Folk Medicine (NEIFM) as the North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Folk Medicine Research (NEIAFMR).

Cabinet Extends RoSCTL Scheme for Textile Exporters till March 2024

The union cabinet on Wednesday extended the Rebate of State and Central Levies and Taxes (RoSCTL) scheme till March 2024, a move aimed at helping the textile exporters.
"Continuation of RoSCTL for apparel/garments and made-ups is expected to make these products globally competitive by rebating all embedded taxes/levies which are currently not being rebated under any other mechanism. It will ensure a stable and predictable policy regime and provide a level playing field to Indian textiles exporters. Further, it will promote startups and entrepreneurs to export and ensure creation of lakhs of jobs," an official statement said.

Cabinet Okays Scheme to Promote India-owned Ships with Subsidy Support

The Union Cabinetapproved a scheme for promotion of flagging of merchant ships in India by providing subsidy support to domestic shipping companies in global tenders floated by Ministries.
As per the scheme, a subsidy of Rs 1,624 crore over five years to domestic shipping companies will be given in global tenders floated by Ministries and central public sector enterprises.
The move has brought in an opportune time to invest in Indian flagged vessels, said industry experts.
The policy was announced in February as part of the fiscal 2022 Union Budget.
