April 13 marks the day of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, and this year it is the 102nd anniversary of the celebrations of Baisakhi festival which took a grim turn back in 1919.
Jallianwala Bagh Massacre is one of the most heart-wrenching historic events for India, in which British officers opened fire on thousands of people who had gathered to celebrate the occasion of Baisakhi.
The incident has been given a very prominent position in the history of India, it is seen to be the major turning point in the national freedom movement of India.

International Day of Human Space Fligh
The International Day of Human Space Flight is the annual celebration, held on 12 April, of the anniversary of the first human space flight by Yuri Gagarin. It was proclaimed at the 65th session of the United Nations General Assembly on 7 April 2011, a few days before the 50th anniversary of the flight.
April 12, 1961 was the date of the first human space flight, carried out by Yuri Gagarin, a Soviet citizen. This historic event opened the way for space exploration for the benefit of all humanity.

National Safe Motherhood Day
National Safe Motherhood Day is observed on April 11 every year. National Safe Motherhood Day is an initiative of the White Ribbon Alliance India (WRAI), to enforce that women must have the availability and adequate access to care during pregnancy childbirth and postnatal services.
At the request of WRAI, an alliance of 1800 organizations, in 2003, the Government of India declared April 11th, the anniversary of Kasturba Gandhi's birth, as National Safe Motherhood Day. India is the 1st country in the world to have socially declared a National Safe Motherhood Day.

CRPF Valour Day
Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Valour Day (Shaurya Diwas) is observed on 9 April every year, as a tribute to the brave men of the Force. 2021 marks the 56th CRPF Valour Day. It was on this day in 1965, a small contingent of CRPF created history by defeating an invading Pakistani army, several time larger, at the Sardar Post located in the Rann of Kutch, Gujarat. The CRPF men eliminated 34 Pakistani soldiers and captured four alive. In the conflict, CRPF lost six personnel who had attained martyrdom.

Dandi Padyatra as Part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav held in Dandi, Gujarat Ends
The Vice President, M. Venkaiah Naidu graced the colourful closing ceremony of the 25-day long commemorative Dandi Padyatra as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav near National Salt Satyagraha Memorial , Dandi, Gujarat. The function was organised by the Ministry of Culture and State government of Gujarat. Acharya Devvrat, Governor of Gujarat; Prahlad Singh Patel, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism and Culture; Vijay Rupani, Chief Minister of Gujarat and others were present at the event.
Addressing on the occasion, the Vice President said that Gandhi's iconic Dandi Salt March was a watershed moment in our freedom struggle. Shri Naidu said that it altered the course of history. "The Dandi March we are symbolically revisiting today signifies our nation's ability to stay united when we are faced with challenges", he said.
