World Food Safety Day

World Food Safety Day is celebrated on 7 June to draw global attention to the consequences of contaminated food and water to health. Also, this day focuses on the way to reduce the risk of food poisoning. The safety of food is a key to achieving Sustainable Development Goals. The theme for this year's World Food Safety Day is "Safer food, better health," and offers pointers on what the Day is about and how to get engaged.
While safe food is a marker of good health, unsafe food can cause many diseases. Poor food quality contributes to worsening health conditions, such as impaired growth and development, micronutrient deficiencies, non-communicable or communicable diseases and mental illness.

Russian Language Day

The UN Russian Language Day is observed annually on 6th June. It is one of the six official languages used by the United Nations throughout the Organization. The day was established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 2010. June 6, the birthday of the great Russian poet A.S. Pushkin, as part of the program to support and develop multilingualism and cultural diversity, the UN celebrates the Day of the Russian Language.
One of the goals of this program is to maintain the equality of all six official languages of the UN: English, Arabic, Spanish, Chinese, Russian and French. The decision to hold language days was taken by the Department of Public Information (now the Department of Global Communications) on the eve of International Mother Language Day , celebrated annually on February 21 at the initiative of UNESCO.

The environment is a major issue, which not only affects the well-being of the people but also hampers economic development throughout the world. The theme of World Environment Day 2022 is "Only One Earth". World Environment Day 2022 is hosted by Sweden.

International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression

Every year on 4th June, the United Nations (UN) International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression is observed to raise awareness about the children who have suffered a lot throughout the world and are victims of physical, mental and emotional abuse. On this day UN affirms the commitment to protect the rights of children.
The day was decided upon in August 1982 at a special assembly of the United Nations (UN), when member states recognised the significance of the impact of armed conflict on children and the need for action to be taken and awareness to be raised. The assembly adopted the 51/77 Resolution on the rights of the Child, which was created out of already ongoing efforts to protect the rights of children in conflict. The impact of the war in Lebanon was the inspiration for this day.

World Bicycle Day

The day highlights the attention towards the benefits of using the bicycle which is a simple, affordable, clean, and environmentally fit sustainable means of transportation. It is celebrated on 3rd June. The day celebrates the uniqueness, durability, and versatility of the bicycle and promotes it as a simple, sustainable means of transportation.
The United Nations General Assembly declared 3 June as World Bicycle Day acknowledging the individuality, durability, and versatility of the bicycle, which has been in use for 2 centuries. The day will encourage the stakeholders to understand emphasize and advance the use of the bicycle in fostering sustainable development, strengthen education for children and young people, promotes health, prevent diseases, facilitate social inclusion and culture of peace, etc.
