NCPCR's Elimination of Child Labour Week: 12-20 June 2022
National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) is celebrating Elimination of Child Labour Week in the honour of World Day Against Child Labour. It is being celebrated in 75 places as part of the "75th anniversary celebrations of India's independence – "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav" in different districts starting from 12th June to 20th June, 2022 as a significance to pay attention to the problem of child labour and to find ways to eradicate it. National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) was constituted by the Government of India, as a statutory body under section 3 of the Commissions for Protection of Child Rights (CPCR) Act, 2005 for dealing with the protection of child rights and related matters.
For the Commission, protection of all children in the 0 to 18 years age group is of equal importance. Thus, policies define priority actions for the most vulnerable children. This includes focus on regions that are backward or on communities or children under certain circumstances, and so on. The NCPCR believes that while in addressing only some children, there could be a fallacy of exclusion of many vulnerable children who may not fall under the defined or targeted categories.
World Blood Donor Day
World Blood Donor Day is observed on 14 June every year to raise awareness about the urgency of blood donations all over the world and to acknowledge and appreciate blood donors for their support. This year's slogan is "Donating blood is an act of solidarity. Join the effort and save lives". The theme is decided by WHO to highlight the roles that voluntary blood donations play in saving lives and enhancing solidarity within communities.

International Albinism Awareness Day
The International Albinism Awareness Day (IAAD), annually observed on June 13, represents the importance and celebration of human rights of people with albinism.
Albinism is a non-contagious, genetically inherited ailment that results in the lack of melanin in the skin, eyes, and hair. Due to this, people with albinism are prone to many issues both social and biological. People subject to this drastic difference in pigmentation are prone to skin cancer. Due to the lack of melanin in the eyes, many people often have a permanent visual impairment. The theme for the International Albinism Awareness Day this year is "United in making our voice heard." The theme is chosen in an effort to amplify the voices, and highlight the work being done, of and for, the people with albinism. The theme will also support a sense of unity in the community and highlight the celebration of different versions of lives people with albinism live.

World Day Against Child Labour
The Significance of the World Day Against Child Labour is to pay attention to the problem of child labour and to find ways to eradicate it. The day is used to spread awareness about the harmful mental and physical problems faced by children forced into child labour, all over the world.

Social protection is both a human right and a potent policy tool to prevent families from resorting to child labour in times of crisis. However, as of 2020 and before the COVID-19 crisis took hold, only 46.9 per cent of the global population was effectively covered by at least one social protection benefit. Coverage for children is even lower. Nearly three quarters of children, 1.5 billion, lacked social protection.

World Accreditation Day
World Accreditation Day, a joint initiative by the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and International Accreditation Forum (IAF), is observed on June 9 every year. The initiative's aim is "accredited once, accepted everywhere," which works for promoting the value of accreditation.
World Accreditation Day came into existence in 2007 with the collaborative efforts of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF). The first World Accreditation Day was celebrated in 2008 and the theme for that year was - Accreditation: Delivering Trust in the Global Market. As years passed by, the day has touched upon various qualities of accreditation, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and improving food quality.
The World Accreditation Day 2022 was celebrated with the theme 'Accreditation: Sustainability in Economic Growth and the Environment.'

World Brain Tumor Day
World Brain Tumour Day is observed every year on June 8 with an aim to create awareness about brain tumours.
World Brain Tumor Day was first observed on June 8, 2000, by the German Brain Tumor Association (Deutsche Hirntumorhilfe e.V.) for supporting brain tumour patients. It was founded in the year 1998 and has 500 registered members from 14 nations. The idea was to give support and raise funds to help Tumour patients and their families. The association advocates science and research, especially in neuro-oncology, to develop some effective treatments for brain tumours.
The theme of World Tumor Day 2022 was 'Together We Are Stronger'.
World Ocean Day
World Oceans Day is an international day that takes place annually on 8th June. The concept was originally proposed in 1992 by Canada's International Centre for Ocean Development (ICOD) and the Ocean Institute of Canada (OIC) at the Earth Summit – UN Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.[1] "World Oceans Day" was officially recognised by the United Nations in 2008.
Oceans cover 71 per cent of the Earth's surface while they hold 97 per cent of the water found on our planet.
Each year World Ocean Day has a theme and the theme for 2022 was 'Revitalisation: Collective Action for the Ocean'.
