The significant decision aims to provide ample opportunities to Agniveers in Police, Forest, Excise, Fire or any services decided by the State government from time to time.

Indian Air Force Contingent to Participate in Bilateral Military Exercise in Oman
A contingent of the Indian Air Force (IAF), including MiG-29s, Jaguars and C-27s, is taking part in the bilateral 'Exercise Eastern Bridge' in Oman.
The bilateral exercise, taking place at the Air Force base in Oman's Masirah, will enhance the interoperability between the Royal Oman Air Force and the IAF. The exercise will end on September 22.
It will also provide a platform for both teams to engage in a series of joint training missions designed to strengthen strategic cooperation and operational readiness.
The seventh edition of the exercise aims to improve tactical and operational skills, foster mutual understanding and bolster the ability of both air forces to collaborate effectively in diverse scenarios.

Indian Navy's P8I Aircraft in Australia's Darwin Participates in Exercise Kakadu
The Indian Navy's P8I aircraft, led by Commanding Officer Captain Ajay Kanwar, is in Australia's Darwin and is participating in the 16th edition of Exercise Kakadu 2024 till September 20, 2024.
Indian Navy is participating in the multinational exercise with over 30 nations with the theme 'Regional Cooperation through Trusted & Proven Partnerships'.
Australia's biggest warfare exercise-Kakadu, incorporates warships, helicopters and maritime patrol aircraft from attending countries.
Kakadu provides an excellent opportunity for army men to exercise their professionalism in a range of tactical maritime activities. This year (2024) the focus is on interoperability with greater integration of Australia's international partners in all aspects of the exercise.

Lockheed Martin and Tata Systems Partner for C-130J Expansion in India
Lockheed Martin and Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) announced a collaboration to enhance the C-130J Super Hercules program in India. This partnership aims to establish a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility in India to support both the Indian Air Force's (IAF) fleet of 12 C-130Js and global C-130J fleets.
Additionally, the agreement includes plans to expand C-130J manufacturing and assembly in India, potentially for the IAF's Medium Transport Aircraft (MTA) program, pending necessary government approvals.
The collaboration marks a milestone for Tata Advanced Systems, entering the defence MRO sector for large aircraft. It strengthens the partnership between Lockheed Martin and TASL, building on their existing joint venture, Tata Lockheed Martin Aerostructures Ltd. (TLMAL), which has been manufacturing C-130J empennages since 2010.
India Bolsters Naval Capabilities: Launch of Mahe Class Anti-Submarine Warfare Vessels
The Indian Navy launched two anti-submarine warfare (ASW) shallow water crafts, named Malpe and Mulki, at Cochin Shipyard Ltd. (CSL) in Kochi. These vessels, part of the Eight Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft project, are the fourth and fifth ships to be launched under the program, which was initiated through a contract signed between the Indian Ministry of Defence and CSL on April 30, 2019.
The project is part of India's broader 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' (self-reliant India) initiative, aimed at reducing dependence on foreign defense imports.

Indian Army & IAF Sign MoU with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya to Boost Logistics Skills
The Indian Army and Indian Air Force signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya in Vadodara. This collaboration aims to enhance the logistics capabilities of personnel and align with national development plans such as the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan 2021 and the National Logistics Policy 2022. The agreement was formalised in New Delhi in the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
The MoU will focus on developing higher expertise in logistics, enabling the Indian Army and Air Force to build in-house proficiency across various logistics operations. This initiative supports the national goal of self-reliance in defense and aims to improve the efficiency of logistics systems, which are crucial for rapid mobilisation and resource allocation.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh described the partnership as a monumental step toward strengthening the logistics backbone of the Armed Forces.
