Delhi Police and CRPF Marching Contingents Awarded top Honours in Republic Day Parade 2024
According to an official statement from the Ministry of Defence, the Delhi Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) emerged as the winners of the best marching contingents in the Republic Day parade of 2024.
In a notable achievement, the Delhi Police secured the coveted 'Best Marching Contingent' trophy in the 'Judges Choice category,' while the CRPF claimed the top spot in the 'Popular Choice category'.
The awards were presented by MoS Defence Ajay Bhatt. The results were announced separately, with one set determined by a panel of judges and the other through an online public vote conducted by MyGov.

Preeti Rajak Becomes First Woman Subedar in Army
Champion trap shooter Preeti Rajak became the first woman subedar in the Army, after she was promoted from the havaldar rank.
This is for the first time that a woman Army soldier was promoted to a junior commissioned officer (JCO), after the Army opened soldier ranks to women in the Corps of Military Police (CMP).
Subedar Rajak had joined the Army (CMP) in December, 2022, based on her proven performance in trap shooting. She is the first meritorious sportswomen in shooting discipline enrolled in the Army as a havaldar.
Joint military exercise - SADA TANSEEQ between India & Saudi Arabia
The inaugural edition of Joint Military Exercise 'SADA TANSEEQ' between India and Saudi Arabia is being held from January 29 to February 10 in Rajasthan.
The exercise aims to enhance synergy, interoperability and jointmanship by learning and sharing best practices between the Armies of both nations.
The joint exercise focuses on counter terrorism operations under United Nations Mandate.

Indian Navy Chooses Vikarabad in Telangana For Its Second VLF Communication Transmission Station

The 14th All India Police Commando Competition Held in Visakhapatnam
The annual 14th All India Police Commando Competition (AIPCC) was held at the Greyhounds Training Centre in Kapuluppada, Visakhapatnam. Chief guest, commissioner Ravi Shankar, explained how he started his career as an assault commander in the Greyhounds division. He lauded the calibre of the commandos selected from various divisions and said this competition hosted the best commando teams globally.
Greyhounds additional DGP Rajeev Kumar Meena announced that the Greyhounds division hosted the AIPCC for the first time since the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. With representation from 23 teams at the national level, including from AP, Gujarat, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Kerala, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Orissa, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, MP, Bihar, and seven central teams, the competition promised a diverse and challenging showcasing of commando skills.
Participants from police organisations such as RPF, BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBT, SSB and Assam Rifles were listed for the competition, and brought a blend of expertise to the events.
The competitions covered five dimensions: navigation, skill test, planning and presentation, physical activity and firing. The winners were decided by a 50-member panel from the All India Sports Control Board.

Indian Air Force (IAF) conducted 'Exercise Desert Knight ' with French Air and Space Force (FASF) and United Arab Emirates (UAE) Air Force over the Arabian Sea.
The main focus of Exercise Desert Knight was on enhancing synergy and interoperability between the three Air Forces. The interactions during the exercise facilitated the exchange of operational knowledge, experiences and best practices amongst the participants. Such exercises are indicative of the growing diplomatic and military interactions in the region, apart from showcasing the prowess of the IAF.

The delivered UAVs encompass a diverse range of capabilities, including the multipurpose Ababil-4 and Ababil-5, Arash, Bavar, and Karrar jet-powered target drones. Each drone is tailored to specific mission profiles, highlighting the versatility of Iran's indigenous drone technology.
