NASA's Dragonfly Rotorcraft

NASA's Dragonfly rotorcraft is scheduled to reach the Selk Crater region on Saturn's moon Titan in the year 2034. Scientists have characterised the landscape of this region by analysing radar images of the area acquired by the Cassini spacecraft during its 13 years of exploring the Saturn system. In short, it is a patchwork of sand dunes and broken-up ice.
As per NASA, Titan is an ideal destination to study astrobiology, prebiological chemistry and the potential habitability of an extraterrestrial world. This is because it is an ocean world dominated by water and ice with a carbon-rich chemistry. The moon has a subsurface ocean of liquid water, methane lakes and rivers on the surface.

Adani Data Networks Gets Licence For Full Fledge Telecom Services

Adani Data Network was granted unified licence for access services, which enables it to provide all telecom services in the country.
Adani Group entered the telecom sector after buying spectrum in the recent auction.
Adani Data Networks Ltd (ADNL), a unit of Adani Enterprises Ltd, acquired the right to use 400MHz of spectrum in the 26GHz millimetre wave band worth Rs. 212 crore for 20 years in the recent 5G spectrum auction.
The Adani Group had said that it plans to use the airwaves for its data centres as well as the super app it is building to support businesses from electricity distribution to airports, and gas retailing to ports.

China Launches ASO-S Satellite to Study the Sun and Space Weather

After successfully integrating its under-construction Space Station and approving the next phase of its lunar missions, China launched a new observatory that will look into the sun. The Advanced Space-based Solar Observatory (ASO-S) was launched onboard a Long March-2D rocket.
Nicknamed Kuafu-1, after a giant in Chinese mythology who chased the sun, the observatory was placed in an orbit about 720 kilometres above the planet, higher than the orbit of the International Space Station. The observatory, which is about 859 kilograms, lifted off from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre in northwest China.
With the satellite now placed into orbit, a six-month-long commissioning phase will begin, after which science operations will commence. The spacecraft would study the causality between the solar magnetic field and two major eruptive phenomena: solar flares and coronal mass ejections.

MS Dhoni Launches Made-in-India 'Droni' Camera Drone for Farming Solutions

Indian cricket star Mahendra Singh Dhoni launched the made-in-India camera drone named 'Droni' with advanced features manufactured by Garuda Aerospace.
Dhoni is the brand ambassador of Garuda Aerospace, a company which has attempted to offer drone solutions for agricultural pesticide spraying, solar panel cleaning, industrial pipeline inspections, mapping, surveying, public announcements, and delivery services.
It has ventured into the consumer drone market with 'Droni'.
As per reports, the product will be available in the market by the end of 2022.

Asteria Aerospace Gets India's First Micro Category Drone Certification from DGCA

India's first micro category drone type certification was received by the Asteria Aerospace Limited for its primitive designed A200 drone from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The drone was discovered to be completely compliant with the Certification Scheme for Unmanned Aircraft Systems notified in January 2022. As per the reports "Asteria's A200 drone has been made for surveying and mapping applications in GIS, construction, mining, agriculture and other industries.
The (DGCA) Directorate General of Civil Aviation is a statutory body of the Government of India to regulate civil aviation in the country. DGCA became a statutory body under the Aircraft Amendment Act, 2020.

Chandrayaan-2 Spectrometer Maps Abundance of Sodium on Moon for First Time

The X-ray spectrometer 'CLASS' on the Chandrayaan-2 Orbiter mapped an abundance of sodium on the moon for the first time, according to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
Chandrayaan-1 X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometer (C1XS) detected sodium from its characteristic line in X-rays which opened up the possibility of mapping the amount of sodium on the moon.
Built at the U R Rao Satellite Centre of ISRO in Bengaluru, CLASS provides clean signatures of the sodium line thanks to its high sensitivity and performance.
The study finds that a part of the signal could be arising from a thin veneer of sodium atoms weakly bound to the lunar grains.
These sodium atoms can be nudged out of the surface by solar wind or ultraviolet radiation more easily than if they were part of the lunar minerals. Also shown is a diurnal variation of the surface sodium that would explain the continuous supply of atoms to the exosphere, sustaining it.
The new findings from Chandrayaan-2, provide an avenue to study surface-exosphere interaction on the moon.
