Saudi Activist Wins Top Europe Rights Award

Saudi activist Loujain al-Hathloul was awarded a top European rights prize on Monday in recognition of her fight for women's rights in the kingdom, including her efforts to end a ban on women driving.
The Vaclav Havel Human Rights Prize, named after the former Czech dissident and later President, is awarded annually for civil society action in defence of human rights by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
Ms. Hathloul "is one of the leaders of the Saudi feminist movement, having campaigned to end the male guardianship system, as well as the Saudi ban on women driving, and for greater protection for women facing abuse in the Kingdom.

Filmmaker Roberto Benigni to Receive Venice Film Festival's Lifetime Achievement Award

Oscar-winning Italian director-actor Roberto Benigni of "Life is Beautiful" fame has been honoured with the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement of the 78th Venice International Film Festival, announced the organisers.
The decision to honour Benigni, a two-time Oscar winner was made by the board of La Biennale di Venezia. The writer-director-actor's name was proposed by the Festival''s Director, Alberto Barbera.
Venice Film Festival runs from September 1-11.

Marathi Film Puglya Wins Best Foreign Feature at Moscow Film Fest

The Marathi film "Puglya" has won the Best Foreign Language Feature award at Moscow International Film Festival, 2021. The film Puglya has been directed and produced by Vinod Sam Peter under the banner Abraham Films.
So far, this film has won over 45 awards and recognitions at various international film festivals. The film is yet to be released in India. The film revolves around a pug and two boys, who are around 10 years old.

HAL bags Indian Society for Training and Development Award

Bengaluru-based Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has bagged the first place for Innovative Training Practices 2019-20 at the 30th National Award ceremony held at New Delhi by Indian Society for Training & Development (ISTD).
"This is a recognition of our relentless efforts to strive for excellence in the area of training and development," said Alok Verma, Director (HR). Apart from using the in-house talent, HAL has tied up with the best management and training institutes to impart the right training to the professionals.

Kane Williamson Awarded Sir Richard Hadlee Medal

New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson was adjudged 'International Test Player of the Year' along with winner of the prestigious Sir Richard Hadlee Medal for the fourth time in last six years at the New Zealand Cricket Awards.
On the other hand, the Women's team all-rounder Amelia Kerr was also honoured along with the upcoming star Devon Conway at the New Zealand Cricket Awards for the 2020-21 season. Meanwhile, Devon Conway was awarded the Men's Player of the year award in both ODIs and T20s.
Whereas the 21-year old Fin Allen was honoured with the Super Smash player of the year award for his staggering strike rate of 193.
