Journalist P. Sainath Wins Japan's Fukuoka Grand Prize
Journalist P. Sainath has been awarded the Fukuoka Grand Prize for 2021. The award, established by Japan's Fukuoka metropolis and the Fukuoka City International Foundation, is given to people and organisations for his or her work in preserving Asian tradition.
The Fukuoka Prize Committee mentioned Sainath is a dedicated journalist who has continued to analyze impoverished farming villages in India and captured the fact of the approach to life of the residents in such areas.
RK Sabharwal Gets Highest Civilian Award of Mongolia
Engineers India Limited (EIL) Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), RK Sabharwal has been honoured with the highest civilian award of Mongolia 'The Order of Polar Star' by his excellency. The President of Mongolia recognises the outstanding contribution made by him towards the establishment of the first-ever oil refinery in Mongolia. On behalf of the government of Mongolia, this award was presented by His Excellency, the Ambassador of Mongolia to India, Gonching Ganbold, at a ceremony organised at the Embassy of Mongolia.
The 'Order of Polar Star' is the most desirable and prestigious state award bestowed by the President of Mongolia which is highly valuable and distinguished and recognises individuals who have made an invaluable contribution with their outstanding hard work, intelligence and sincerity to the prosperity of Mongolia and its friendship with other nations, as well for outstanding contributions in the fields of arts, culture, science and humanity.

K. K. Shailaja Bags Prestigious European Award
The Central European University (CEU) Open Society Prize for 2021 has been awarded to K. K. Shailaja, the former Health Minister of Kerala. The award was presented to her in recognition of "her determined leadership and community-based public health work, saving lives during the pandemic". She demonstrates to the world that determined leadership, community-based public health and effective communication can save lives.
The CEU' Open Society Prize is awarded annually to an individual or organisation "whose achievements have contributed substantially to the creation of an open society".
CEU was founded in 1991 by George Soros, a Hungarian-born political activist and billionaire philanthropist based on his vision of a unique institution that would train future generations of scholars, professionals, politicians, and civil society leaders "to contribute to building open and democratic societies that respect human rights and adhere to the rule of law".

Cochin International Airport Ltd Wins Global Award for Service Quality
The Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL) has won a global award for service quality. Airport Council International (ACI) Director-General Luis Felipe de Oliveira said that CIAL has consistently delivered excellence in customer service by winning multiple ASQ awards over five years during the past 10 years.
The ACI, a global body of airport operators, established the Roll of Excellence recognition to those airports, which in the opinion of the passengers have consistently delivered excellent service.
The award would be presented during the ACI customer Experience Global summit slated to be held on September 9, 2021, in Montreal, Canada.

Environmental Organisation 'Familial Forestry' Wins Prestigious UN Award
The 2021 Land for Life Award has been won by Familial Forestry of Rajasthan, a unique concept that relates a tree with a family, making it a green "family member." The UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) organises the Land for Life Award every two years to recognize excellence and innovation in efforts towards land in balance.
The theme for the 2021 Award is "Healthy Land, Healthy Lives". The Land for Life Award was launched at the UNCCD COP (Conference of Parties) 10 in 2011 and is considered as the world's highest reward regarding land conservation and restoration.
Familial Forestry is an environment conservation concept by climate-activist Shyam Sunder Jyani, an Associate Professor for Sociology in Rajasthan, who has been campaigning for Familial Forestry for over 15 years.
