The Ministry of Tourism constituted the Swadesh Darshan awards in various categories to acknowledge the efforts made by state governments, union territory administrations, and various implementing agencies.
The awards would be given to recognize best practices like innovative approach, achievement of planned objectives, the adoption of sustainability principles in design, planning, and operations, ability to attract private investments in peripheral development, efficient project monitoring, and efforts undertaken to ensure optimal operations and maintenance, etc.
The UT administrations and the State Governments were asked to submit their entries via online mode.
It was decided by the Ministry to invite entries under various categories such as Best Log Hut Facility, Best Tourist Interpretation Centre, Best Cafeteria, Best MICE Facility, Best Sound and Light Show, Best Craft Haat/ Souvenir Shop facility, and Best Waterfront Development (Beach/ River/ Lake, etc.).

Prof. Dhar First Indian to Get Boltzmann Medal
Prof. Deepak Dhar from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Pune (IISER Pune) was chosen for the prestigious Boltzmann Medal for the year 2022. He became the first Indian to be awarded the Boltzmann Medal. He was chosen for his contribution in the field of 'Statistical Physics'. A small function was held at IISER Pune campus to felicitate the physicist from his fellow colleagues and director of IISER Pune.
This prestigious medal is awarded in every three years by the Commission on Statistical Physics of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) at the Statphys Conference.
Prof Dhar was born 1951 and completed his graduation in Science in 1970 from University of Allahabad, then Masters in Physics from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 1972. Then he went to the US for PhD and after completing his PhD joined Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) as a research fellow in 1978. He worked at TIFR over the years as a full-time professor and retired in 2016. Since then, he has joined IISER Pune as a visiting faculty.

Ramanujan Prize for Young Mathematicians
Professor Neena Gupta was conferred the Ramanujan Prize for Young Mathematicians 2021.
Neena Gupta is a mathematician from Indian Statistical Institute in Kolkata.
She was conferred the award for her outstanding work in affine algebraic geometry and commutative algebra.
The Ramanujan Prize for Young Mathematicians is a mathematics prize that is awarded annually by "International Centre for Theoretical Physics" in Italy. It has been named after Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. The prize was founded in 2004 and first awarded in 2005.
The Ramanujan Prize for Young Mathematicians is awarded to researcher from a developing country who is aged below 45 years and has conducted outstanding research in developing country. It is supported by Ministry of Science and Technology (India) as well as Norwegian Academy of Science & Letters through the Abel Fund, in cooperation of "International Mathematical Union".
Gen M. M. Naravane Presents Presidential Colours to Four Para Battalions
Chief of Army Staff General M. M. Naravane presented Presidential Colours to four parachute battalions at Parachute Regiment Training Centre in Bengaluru.
The four battalions are the 11 Para (Special Forces), 21 Para (Special Forces), 23 Para, and 29 Para battalions.
The award of President's Colours or the 'Nishan' is one of the highest honours bestowed upon a military unit in recognition of its exceptional service to the nation, both during the war and in peace.

Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2022 were conferred to the recipients in a ceremony held in February 2022.
Ranveer Singh received the award for Best Actor for '83', Kriti Sanon won the Best Actress award for her role in 'Mimi'. Ken Gosho received the DPIFF 2022 Best Director award for 'State of Siege: Temple Attack' and Best Film award went to 'Shershaah'.
DPIFF 2022 Film of the Year award went to 'Pushpa: The Rise' and Best International Feature Film award went to Another Round, a comedy-drama film directed by Thomas Vinterberg and Asha Parekh was honoured with Outstanding Contribution to Films award.

Coal Minister compliments CIL for getting Most Dependable Public Sector in India award
Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi has complimented Coal India Ltd under the Ministry of Coal for getting the Most Dependable Public Sector in India award.
Mr Joshi said, the award will provide further fillip to the efforts of CIL to become the global leader in the energy sector. Minister of State for Coal, Raosaheb Patil Danve also complimented CIL for bagging the coveted award.
The Award was conferred on CIL by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Kolkata in Energy Meet and Excellence Awards function.
