Prabhat Patnaik Named for Malcolm Adiseshiah Award 2022

  • Well-known Indian economist and political commentator, Prabhat Patnaik was selected for the Malcolm Adiseshiah Award 2022. The award is annually given by the Malcolm and Elizabeth Adiseshiah Trust to an outstanding social scientist selected from nominations received by a specially constituted national jury. The award includes a citation and prize money of Rs. 2 lakh.
  • Dr. Patnaik has taught at the Centre for Economic Studies and Planning in the School of Social Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in New Delhi and was the Vice Chairman of the Kerala State Planning Board.

Udan Scheme Selected For Award For Excellence In Public Administration 2020

  • Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) flagship Regional Connectivity Scheme UDAN (UdeDeshkaAamNagrik) has been selected for Prime Minister's Award for Excellence in Public Administration 2020 under the category "Innovation (General) – Central".
  • Government of India has initiated this award to acknowledge, recognize and reward extraordinary and innovative work done by Districts and Organizations of State/Government. This scheme emphasises on Good Governance, Qualitative achievements, and last mile connectivity rather than only on achievement of quantitative targets. The award consists of a trophy, scroll and an incentive of Rs 10 lakhs.
  • Launched in 2016, UDAN scheme aims to fulfil the aspirations of the common man by following the vision of UdeDeshkaAamNagrik, with an enhanced aviation infrastructure and air connectivity in tier II and III cities. In a short span of 5 years, today 415 UDAN routes connect 66 underserved/unserved airports, including heliports and water aerodromes, and over 92 lakh people have benefited from it. More than 1 lakh 79 thousand flights have flown under this scheme. UDAN scheme has immensely benefitted several sectors pan-India including Hilly States, North-Eastern region, and Islands

AIMA honours Shoojit Sircar with Director Of The Year award for Sardar Udham

  • Every year, AIMA presents the Director Of The Year award, which recognises an individual "who has exemplified the spirit of filmmaking and created a masterpiece out of it". As per the description of the award, it is given to those directors "who have created a masterpiece that is pathbreaking and is worth watching over and over again".
  • In April 2022, at an award ceremony held in Delhi, Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport and Highways, presented the 2021 AIMA Managing India Awards (AIMA) in multiple categories in Delhi.
  • In the films category, Shoojit Sircar was honoured with the Director Of The Year award for Sardar Udham .

Divyanka Tripathi Honoured with the Champion of Change Award 2021 in Madhya Pradesh

  • Actress Divyanka Tripathi was honoured with Champion Of Change Award for her phenomenal work as an artist. The actress was awarded by the government of Madhya Pradesh.
  • Divyanka received the award from state's Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel and Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. She was awarded the title in the presence of her husband Vivek Dahiya and her family.

Vice President Confers International Gandhi Award for Leprosy, 2021

  • Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu conferred the International Gandhi Award for Leprosy, 2021 to Dr. Bhushan Kumar of Chandigarh and Sahyog Kushtha Yagna Trust, Gujarat at a function in New Delhi. The annual award was instituted by Gandhi Memorial Leprosy Foundation.
  • Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Naidu lauded the efforts of the recipients and said that both Dr. Bhushan Kumar and Sahyog Kushtha Yagna Trust have been working diligently to raise awareness about leprosy and in providing care to those afflicted with it.
  • Acknowledging India's steady fight against leprosy, Mr. Naidu said that India successfully accomplished levels of leprosy eradication defined as less than one case per ten thousand population
  • The awards aim to recognize the outstanding work by individuals and organisations to fight leprosy and eliminate the prejudices associated with it.

NMDC Wins Two Awards at 80th SKOCH Summit 2022

  • SKOCH Awards were instituted in 2003 with an aim to recognises people, projects and institutions that go the extra mile to make India a better nation.
  • The largest iron ore producer in India, the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) awarded one gold and one silver award in the 80thSKOCH Summit and SKOCH Awards recently conducted by SKOCH, New Delhi.
  • The Gold Award was won in the category of social responsibility for the project 'Promotion of Technical Education & Skill Development in Dantewada District through NMDC ITI Bhansi' and the Silver Award in the category of digital inclusion for the 'Project Kalpataru' for ERP implementation.
