The Most Distant Body in Our Solar System

  •  Scientists have discovered the most distant body ever observed in our solar system, located over 100 times farther than Earth is from the sun.
  • The new object, discovered by Scott S. Sheppard, David Tholen and Chad Trujillo has been given the provisional designation 2018 VG18.
  • 2018 VG18, nicknamed "Farout" by the team for its extremely distant location, is at about 120 astronomical units (AU), where 1 AU is defined as the distance between the Earth and the Sun.

Saturn Losing its Iconic Rings

  •  As per NASA scientists, Saturn's iconic rings are being rapidly pulled apart into a dusty rain of ice particles under the influence of the planet's magnetic field.

Eco-friendly Algae Curtains

  •  Two European architects have developed plant-filled plastic curtains designed to turn building facades into "living walls" that help purify dirty air.
  • The curtains contain a maze-like network of tubes filled with microscopic algae, which like all green plants remove carbon dioxide from the air while pumping out oxygen via the carbon-sequestering process known as photosynthesis.
  • Air flows into the bottom of the curtains and rises through the tubes, feeding the microalgae along the way.
