Arjun Erigaisi's Climb Continues Now World's Second Best in Chess Ratings

Arjun Erigaisi made a significant leap in the chess world by securing the world No. 2 spot in live ratings in November. His victory over Alexey Sarana in Round 3 of the Chennai Grand Masters tournament boosted his live rating to 2805.8, propelling him past both USA's Fabiano Caruana, who stands at 2805.0, and American Grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura at 2802.0.

Aman Sehrawat among Top Contenders as Bengaluru Gears up to Host Wrestling Nationals

Paris Olympics bronze medallist Aman Sehrawat will headline a star-studded line-up as Bengaluru prepares to host the Senior National Wrestling Championship for the first time ever, from December 6 to 8.
Joining Aman on the mats will be U-20 World Wrestling Champion Antim Panghal, along with 2019 World Championship silver medal winner Deepak Punia, U23 world champion Reetika Hooda, Olympian Sonam Malik, Radhika, Manisha Bhanwala, Bipasha, Priya, Udit, Chirag, Sunil Kumar, and Narinder Cheema.
The event will be held at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium and the championship is expected to feature over 1000 participants and officials from across 25 affiliated state member units as well as Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) and Services Sports Promotion Board (SSPB).

Three-Year Old Anish Chooses GothamChess over Peppa Pig, Scores Big

Three-year-old Anish Sarkar from Kolkata, India, is defying expectations with his passion for chess, setting aside typical toddler favorites like Peppa Pig and Baby Shark for chess idols like International Master Levy Rozman and Grandmaster Magnus Carlsen. Anish became the world's youngest-rated player, achieving an impressive initial FIDE rating of 1555.
Anish, born in January 2021, took to chess nearly a year ago, around his third birthday.
Initially introduced to various YouTube channels, he became captivated by chess videos, watching them continuously.
His journey gained attention when ChessBase India documented his progress with videos showcasing his understanding of advanced concepts like smothered mate and double-rook sacrifice checkmate.
FIDE was founded on July 20, 1924, in Paris, marking the last day of the first unofficial Chess Olympiad.

World Pickleball Championships

Top players from the All India Pickleball Association (AIPA) have set their sights on the upcoming World Pickleball Championships (WPC), which will take place in Mumbai from November 12-17 to give a boost to the popularity of pickleball in India.

Moin-ul-Haq Stadium Redevelopment: Bihar Govt. Signs 30-year Lease with BCA

The Bihar Government and the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), granting the association a 30-year lease on the Moin-ul-Haq Stadium in Patna.
The MoU officially transferred the stadium to the BCA and paved the way for the redevelopment of the 55-year-old stadium, which would be transformed into a state-of-the-art international standard sports complex.
It will be renovated with the financial support from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Indian Boxer Mandeep Jangra Wins WBF's World Title

Indian boxer Mandeep Jangra won the World Boxing Federation's super featherweight world title. He achieved this victory by defeating British boxer Conor McIntosh in the Cayman Islands. This win marks an important milestone in Jangra's career.
The Haryana boxer, who made his professional boxing debut in 2021, hopes the title will inspire more Indian pugilists to turn professional.

India Makes Official Move to Host 2036 Olympics

Indian Olympic Association (IOA) president PT Usha said that India's commitment to hosting the 2036 Olympics "remains steadfast" after a letter of intent expressing the country's desire to host the 2036 Summer Olympics and Paralympics was submitted by the IOA to the International Olympic Committee's Future Host Commission.
This signifies the first major official step in implementing India's long-standing ambition to stage the marquee quadrennial showpiece.
With the Summer Games set to take place in Los Angeles, United States in 2028, and Brisbane, Australia in 2032, the decision for the host of the 2036 edition is yet to be decided by the IOC, and is likely to be finalised after the IOC elections slated for next year (2025).

Parthavi Grewal, Vanshika Goswami, and Hemant Sangwan showcased their exceptional talent by securing gold medals as Indian boxers made a remarkable impact at the inaugural U19 World Championships organised by World Boxing in Colorado, USA. The Indian contingent delivered an impressive performance, culminating in a total of 17 medals.
