Khelo India Winter Games 2025: Check Full Medal Tally
The Khelo India Winter Games 2025 (KIWG 2025), the fifth edition of India's premier winter sports event under the Khelo India initiative, was successfully conducted in two phases. The second phase of the event concluded in Jammu & Kashmir on March 12, 2025. The Indian Army emerged as the overall champion of KIWG 2025 by securing the most gold medals.
Below is the list of the first five:
Army topped the the Khelo India Winter Games 2025 medal tally with seven gold, five silvers and six bronze. It was followed by Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, respectively.
Australia and England to Play Historic 150th Anniversary Test at MCG
Test cricket is set to witness a monumental milestone as Australia and England lock horns in a special one-off day-night Test match to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the first-ever Test match. Cricket Australia (CA) confirmed that the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) will host this landmark pink-ball Test from March 11 to March 15, 2027.
This encounter will mark the first-ever pink-ball Test played by the Australian men's team at the MCG. Earlier in 2024, Australia's women's team made history by playing the first-ever day-night Test at the venue against England during the Women's Ashes.

India delivered a stellar performance on the second day of the World Para Athletics Grand Prix 2025 in New Delhi, with Rinku Hooda emerging as the standout star in the men's javelin events.
Rinku clinched the gold medal in the F46 category with an impressive throw of 60.26 metres, continuing his golden streak after his triumph at the 22nd National Para Athletics Championships in Goa and a silver medal at the fourth Asian Para Games.
His commanding throw placed him ahead of Sri Lanka's Gamini Ketawala, who registered a throw of 56.88 metres, and Uzbekistan's Elyorbek Elmatov, who settled for bronze with 43.01 metres.

Bangladesh's Mahmudullah Announces Retirement from International Cricket
Bangladesh all-rounder Mahmudullah Riyad announced his retirement from international cricket. He had already retired from Tests in 2021 and then ended his T20I career in October 2024. His last tournament for Bangladesh was the Champions Trophy 2025 where the Bangladesh was eliminated from the group stage.
The player has scored 5689 runs from 239 matches in ODIs and has 4 centuries and 32 fifties. With the ball, he has notched up 82 wickets in the format. He is also the fourth-highest run-scorer for Bangladesh in ODIs, behind Tamim Iqbal (8357), Mushfiqur Rahim (7795), and Shakib Al Hasan (7570).

Gill, who won the award after beating Australia's Steve Smith and New Zealand's Glenn Phillips, scored over fifty runs in all three ODIs in the England series where he slammed 87 in Nagpur, 60 in Cuttack and then 112 in Ahmedabad.

Indian Wrestling Gets a Boost as Sports Ministry Restores WFI Recognition as NSF
The Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports lifted the suspension on the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), restoring its recognition as a National Sports Federation (NSF). This decision ended months of uncertainty and allows the resumption of activities, including selection trials for the upcoming Asian Championship in Amman.
The WFI was initially suspended on December 24, 2023, due to governance lapses and procedural irregularities following the election of Sanjay Singh as its new president on December 21. The suspension came after Singh announced the Under-15 and Under-20 National Championships in Nandini Nagar, Gonda—considered the stronghold of former WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who faced sexual harassment allegations.
