All Kerala Police Stations to Become Child-friendly

In a bid to create an atmosphere where children can lodge complaints without fear, Kerala Director General of Police Loknath Behera virtually inaugurated child-friendly centres at 15 police stations in the state.
Behera said that the Kerala Police are trying to create an atmosphere in the police stations where children can come to lodge complaints without any fear. The event was also attended by other senior police officials thorough video conferencing.
The concept of child-friendly police stations was launched in 2006 with the aim of making those children happy who accompany people coming to police stations for various purposes. Such centres will help children and others to understand the workings of police stations and the work of police officials and to avoid the gap between police, children and the community.
At present, 85 police stations in the state have such children-friendly centres.

Akhilesh Yadav Makes Big Announcement about 2022 UP Assembly Election

Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav revealed his party's strategy for 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly election, saying the SP would not seal alliance with any major parties for the crucial election. Akhilesh's announcement sends a message that the SP is unwilling to enter into an alliance with the Congress with which it fought the 2017 Assembly election.
Samajwadi Party will try to form an understanding with smaller political parties but no alliance with any big political parties. Pragatisheel Party will also be adjusted and Jaswantnagar has already been left for their leader and in times to come, we will also give cabinet berth to him.

Our Help Unconditional: India to G-77 Nations

India's assistance to other nations does not create indebtedness and is "without conditionalities", a top Indian diplomat has said, asserting that the country's cooperation would be guided by the development priorities of its partners.
India's Permanent Representative to the UN TS Tirumurti, reiterated India's commitment to work with developing partners towards a resilient and sustainable recovery from Covid.
In India's development cooperation, TS Tirumurti said that we will be guided by our partners' development priorities. Our assistance does not create indebtedness and is without conditionalities at the 44th Annual Meeting of the G-77 Foreign Ministers, in a veiled reference to China's loans which have led to debt-traps in some countries.

BJP Announces New Team of State In-charges

Two days after winning the Bihar assembly election 2020, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced new state in-charges for the crucial assembly elections scheduled in 2021.
The BJP that secured 74 seats in the Bihar assembly election results 2020 have already started its preparations for the assembly polls in the states like West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerela and Assam.
In poll-bound West Bengal, Kailash Vijayvargiya will continue to be the in-charge.
For Tamil Nadu, CT Ravi will be in-charge who will also take care of Maharashtra and Goa. CP Radhakrishnan will see work in Kerala and Baijayant Panda in Assam and Delhi.
Radha Mohan Singh has been appointed as the in-charge of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, while Sambit Patra for Manipur and Sukanta Majumdar for Sikkim.
Bhupender Yadav will remain the in-charge for Bihar and Gujarat. Chuba Ao for Meghalaya and Nalin Kohli for Nagaland. Vinod Sonkar will handle work in Tripura.

PM Narendra Modi to Inaugurate Ayurveda Institutes

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the two future-ready Ayurveda institutions in Gujarat and Rajasthan.
He will inaugurate the Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (ITRA) at Jamnagar in Gujarat and the National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA) at Jaipur in Rajasthan.
These institutions are expected to play global leadership roles in the growth and development of Ayurveda in the 21st century.

'Sarna Code' for Tribals

The Jharkhand General Assembly passed a resolution demanding a separate 'Sarna Code' for Tribals. The proposal was tabled by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The resolution was passed unanimously with voice vote.
The Resolution seeks a separate column for followers of Sarna religion in Census 2021.
The resolution will seek a special column for the followers of Sarna religion in Census 2021. The Sarna religion followers are worshippers of nature. They do not consider themselves as Hindus. They have been fighting for a separate religious identity for decades. Currently, Sarna is not classified as a separate religion.

Nitish Kumar Likely to Take Oath as Bihar CM on November 16

After National Democratic Alliance (NDA) registered a victory in the Bihar assembly elections, it is almost certain that Nitish Kumar would sit in the Chief Minister`s chair once again.
The new government will likely be formed after Diwali, it is possible that that Nitish Kumar will take the chief ministerial take oath on November 16.
This will be seventh time Nitish Kumar will become the Chief Minister of the state. The JDU's core committee held a meeting with BJP leaders to discuss government formation formula.
Kumar is on course to becoming the longest-serving chief minister of the state after he assumes his new term. He will send his resignation to the governor since his current tenure expires at the end of November.

Cabinet revamps PPP Schemes for Social Sector

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved the continuation and revamping of financial support to Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) in Infrastructure Viability Gap Funding (VGF) Scheme till 2024-25 with a total outlay of Rs. 8,100 crore.
The revamped scheme is mainly related to introduction of following two sub-schemes for mainstreaming private participation in social infrastructure.
Sub scheme -1 is for projects facing bankability issues and poor revenue streams in areas such as waste water treatment, water supply, solid waste management, health and education sectors, etc. The projects eligible under this category should have at least 100 per cent operational cost recovery. The Central Government will provide a maximum of 30 per cent of the total project cost (TPC) as VGF and the other side may provide equivalent additional support.

Bihar Assembly Election Result 2020

An edge of seat contest unfolded in Bihar as the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) secured a majority in the 243-member assembly and the RJD-led opposition alliance giving it a tough competition. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won 74 seats, while the Janata Dal (United) has won 43 seats.
Of the 243 seats, 125 have gone in favour of the ruling coalition headed by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and 110 to rival Grand Alliance. The RJD emerged as the single-largest party in the House with 75 seats.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted that every section of the society has expressed its faith in the alliance's mantra of "with all, development for all, trust of all" and assured people that it will work with full dedication for balanced development of everybody and every region.

Centre Releases Rs. 6,195 crore to 14 States

Based on the 15th Finance Commission interim recommendations, the Govt has released Rs. 6,195.08 crore to 14 states on account of the eighth equated monthly installment of Post Devolution Revenue Deficit Grant.
The 14 states are Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.
A similar amount was released as grant in April-October period of the current financial year.
The Finance Commission provides a mechanism for the Centre to compensate for revenue loss incurred by states, which are referred to as post devolution revenue deficit grant.
