China's state news agency Xinhua introduced the newest members of its newsroom: AI anchors who will report "tirelessly" all day every day, from anywhere in the country.
Chinese viewers were greeted with a digital version of a regular Xinhua news anchor named Qiu Hao. The anchor, wearing a red tie and pin-striped suit, nods his head in emphasis, blinking and raising his eyebrows slightly.
Developed by Xinhua and the Chinese search engine, Sogou, the anchor is developed through machine learning to simulate the voice, facial movements, and gestures of real-life broadcasters, to present a "a lifelike image instead of a cold robot

ISRO Plans Venus Mission
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has invited international proposals for scientific payloads for its second interplanetary mission to Venus in mid 2023, which is planned within a year of the first planned human spaceflight mission in 2022.
India will send 12 scientific payloads aboard the satellite for the Venus mission.

China Unveils New Heavenly Palace
China unveiled a replica of its first permanently crewed space station, which would replace the international community's orbiting laboratory and symbolises the country's major ambitions beyond Earth.
Three astronauts will be permanently stationed in the 60-tonne orbiting lab, which will enable the crew to conduct biological and microgravity research. Assembly is expected to be completed around 2022 and the station would have a lifespan of around 10 years.

Researchers at Indian Institute of Technology-Madras (IITM) have designed and booted up India's first microprocessor, Shakti, which could be used in mobile computing and other devices.
According to IITM, the Shakti microprocessor can be used in low-power wireless systems and networking systems besides reducing reliance on imported microprocessors in communication and defence sectors.

Rajasthan Lab comes Up with E-crackers
A laboratory in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu district has developed e-crackers that produce the same light and sound as traditional firecrackers without emitting any of the hazardous smoke that spike air pollution.
The e-cracker produces different illumination patterns and sounds and is reusable. It uses a rechargeable battery and is absolutely safe and green.
Successful Vertical Landing Test of Space Rocket
China has successfully carried out a vertical landing test of a carrier rocket which will promote the development of a reusable space transportation system.
The Space Intelligence Technology Innovation Centre and a national key laboratory of aerospace intelligent control technology were responsible for the flight test and research.
