Astronomers have discovered the widest known solar system, consisting of a huge planet that takes nearly a million years to orbit its star.
The planet, known as 2MASS J2126, is estimated to have about 11.6 to 15 times the mass of Jupiter.
It is about 7,000 Earth-Sun distances from its star, giving it the widest orbit known. One circuit around its star takes the around 900,000 Earth years.
This is the widest planet system found so far.

First Head Transplant
An Italian surgeon Dr. Sergio Canavero has claimed that he has succesfully carried out the first head transplant on monkey.
He further plans to attempt the controversial procedure on a human being by the end of 2017.
He says that the procedure will be ready before the end of 2017 and could eventually become a way of treating complete paralysis.

Scientists Successfully Revive Frozen Animal
Scientists have succeeded in bringing a frozen animal back to life after 30 years, it has been reported.
Scientists at Japan's National Institute of Polar Research have succeeded in reviving the 'tardigrade' animal which they had collected in Antartica.
The creatures, which are known as 'water bears' or 'moss piglets' are miniscule, water dwelling "extremophiles" measuring less than 1mm in length and dwelling in extreme and hostile conditions.
A Galactic Mega-merger
Astronomers have viewed a galactic mega-merger, a product of a collision between two good-sized galaxies, which is slowly evolving to become a giant elliptical galaxy.
As per researchers, this type of galaxy has grown more and more common as the universe has evolved, with initially small galaxies merging and progressively building up into larger galactic structures over time.
NGC 3597 is located approximately 150 million light-years away in the constellation of Crater (The Cup).

NASA Programme to Protect Earth
NASA has started a new programme called the Planetary Defence Coordination Office (PDCO), which will coordinate the space agency's efforts to detect and track near-Earth objects (NEOs).
Most asteroids and comets in our solar system are small and stay safely in orbit within the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.
But some are large enough to do damage and are in orbits that bring them close enough to our planet.
In order to protect the Earth from these potential hazards, the PDCO has two main roles. First, it is responsible for finding and characterising these NEOs. Second, the PDCO is in charge of coordinating emergency efforts with other agencies and governments if a large NEO was predicted to impact the Earth.

Universe's Most Luminous Galaxy
New observations have revealed that an obscured quasar 12.4 billion light-years away which is known as the most luminous galaxy in the Universe is so violently turbulent, that it may eventually cast off its entire supply of star-forming gas.
After the observation the researchers found that the galaxy is so chaotic that it is ripping itself apart.
Evidence strongly suggests that this galaxy is an obscured quasar, a very distant galaxy with a voraciously feeding super massive black hole at its center that is completely obscured behind a thick blanket of dust.
