An international team of scientists has identified nine monster stars, which are bigger and brighter than our sun.
R136, which is only a few light-years across and is located in the Tarantula Nebula within the Large Magellanic Cloud, about 170 000 light-years away, hosts many extremely massive, hot and luminous stars.
Finding dozens of stars exceeding 50 solar masses, this new study was able to reveal a total number of nine very massive stars in the cluster, all more than 100 times more massive as the sun.

Contact Lenses That Can Autofocus
Scientists have designed new contact lenses that can adjust focus within milliseconds. The contact lens could be life-changing for people with presbyopia, a stiffening of the eye\'s lens that makes it difficult to focus on close objects.
The project requires overcoming several engineering challenges.

Search for Life on Mars
Europe and Russia are set to launch an unmanned spacecraft to smell Mars\' atmosphere for gassy evidence that life once existed or may still exist on the Red Planetl.
ExoMars 2016, the first of a two-phase Mars exploration, will see an orbiter hoisted from Kazakhstan on a Russian Proton rocket.
With its suite of high-tech instruments, the Trace Gas Orbiter or TGO, should arrive at the Red Planet on October 19.
Its main mission is to photograph the Red Planet and analyse its air.
Biggest Object in the Universe so Far
Astronomers have discovered of the BOSS Great Wall, a group of superclusters that span roughly 1 billion light-years across and represents the largest structure ever found in space.
The BOSS Great Wall stands for the Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey and is a string of superclusters connected by gases lying roughly 4.5 to 6.5 billion light-years away from Earth.

World\'s Thinnest Lens
Australian scientists have claimed to have created the world\'s thinnest lens, which is 2,000 times thinner than human hair, a breakthrough set to revolutionise nanotechnology.
The finished lens is 6.3 nanometres in size as compared to the previous smallest lens which was 50 nanometres thick.
The lens has been created by a team of researchers led by Yuerui \'Larry\' Lu from Australian National University.

First Match of Machine against Go World Champion
Computer: 1, Human: 0.
That’s the score after the first match between Lee Sedol, the world’s top Go player and AlphaGo, the computer program that recently defeated the European Go champion.
AlphaGo is the creation of Google DeepMind, an artificial intelligence company based in London. The company’s program is the first to give top human players a run for their money in Go, a complex Chinese strategy game that almost makes chess look like Candy Land.
