Chelsea was announced as the inaugural winner of the Club of the Year award at the Ballon d'Or ceremony in Paris.
The award - which comprises the achievements of both the men's and women's team - comes at the end of a fantastic season for the club.
Chelsea Football Club is an English professional football club based in Fulham, West London. Founded in 1905, the club competes in the Premier League, the top division of English football.
Messi Wins the Ballon d'Or Award
Argentina's Lionel Messi won the Ballon d'Or award for the best player in the world for a record-stretching seventh time, beating Robert Lewandowski and Jorginho to lift soccer's most prestigious trophy yet again.
The forward added to his 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015 and 2019 trophies after winning the Copa America for the first time with his country last July.
The women's Ballon d'Or went to Barcelona's Alexia Putellas.

Indonesia Open 2021: Viktor Axelsen Clinches Men's Singles Title
Olympic gold medallist Viktor Axelsen clinched the Indonesia Open men's singles title after beating Singapore's Loh Kean Yew in the final.
Viktor scored a victory against Loh 21-13, 9-21, 21-13 in an intense 59-minute game in the badminton tournament held on the palm-fringed holiday island of Bali.
In the men's doubles, hometown heroes Marcus Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukomuljo won the title after defeating Japan's Takuro Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi who stunned them in the final of Indonesia Masters a week earlier.
Ramkumar Ramanathan Wins Maiden Singles Title
Indian tennis player Ramkumar Ramanathan won his maiden Challenger level singles title, 12 years after turning a Pro, when he outplayed Evgeny Karlovskiy in the summit clash of the ATP80 Manama event.
Ramkumar, who had lost six Challenger finals in his career before, beat his Russian rival 6-1 6-4 in 68 minutes.
Ramkumar, seeded sixth and ranked 222 in the world, sealed the first set when the Russian's backhand return sailed over the baseline.

ICC Calls off Women's World Cup Qualifier after New Covid Variant Emerges
The ICC called off an ongoing qualifier for next year's Women's ODI World Cup in Harare following the emergence of a new COVID-19 variant in the African region, paving the way for Pakistan, West Indies and Bangladesh to make the cut on the basis of rankings.
Travel restrictions were introduced from a number of African countries after detection of the new variant in South Africa stoked fears around the world. The ICC said the decision to stop the event was based on its concerns about how the participating teams would head back in the wake of Omicron variant's rise.
Indian Mountaineering Foundation Gets its First Woman President
Noted mountaineer from Uttarakhand Harshwanti Bisht earned the distinction of being elected the first woman president of the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF).
She was elected to the coveted post winning 60 out of a total of 107 votes. IMF was founded in the year 1957. On 15 January 1961 it was established as the Indian Mountaineering Foundation with its headquarters in Mumbai, India.
Bisht was honoured with the Arjuna award for her achievements in the field of mountaineering.

Asian Champions Trophy 2021: Manpreet Singh to Lead India Hockey Team
India hockey team captain Manpreet Singh will lead a 20-member contingent in the Men's Asian Champions Trophy, scheduled to be held in Dhaka from December 14- 22. Veteran goalkeeper PR Sreejesh is not in the squad.
Defending champions India will begin their campaign on the opening day against South Korea. The single-pool tournament also has teams such as Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, and hosts Bangladesh.

Pat Cummins was confirmed as Australia's 47th Test captain, with former skipper Steve Smith his deputy, as Australia's Test team breaks new ground ahead of the Ashes 2021 next month. After an interview process and ratification from the full board of Cricket Australia, Cummins became the first fast bowler to be a full-time skipper of the Australian Test team, and the first bowler of any kind to captain the team since Richie Benaud.
