Russian Tennis Federation Clinches Davis Cup Finals Title

Daniil Medvedev delivered once again to guide the Russian Tennis Federation to the Davis Cup Finals title against Croatia in Madrid.
The World No. 2, who did not drop a set at the tournament, overcame Marin Cilic 7-6(7), 6-2 in 89 minutes to secure victory for the Russian Tennis Federation.
Medvedev was strong on serve, firing eight aces and winning 87 per cent (34/39) of points behind his first delivery. It is the third time the Russian Tennis Federation has won the Davis Cup, also triumphing in 2002 and 2006.

Ajaz Patel Becomes Third Bowler to Take 10 Wickets in a Test Innings

Mumbai-born New Zealand left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel became third bowler in Test cricket to take 10 wickets in an innings.
He achieved the feat against India in the second Test at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
Patel returned with figures of 10-119.
Earlier, Australia's Jim Laker was the first cricketer to scalp 10 wickets in a Test innings in 1956 and that was followed by India's Anil Kumble in 1999 against Pakistan.

Germany Dash Defending Champions India's Hopes in Jr. Hockey World Cup

Defending champions India's dream of a second consecutive FIH Junior Men's Hockey World Cup title was shattered as six-time winners Germany defeated the hosts 2-4.
Germany will meet Argentina in the summit clash of the premier tournament.
The Indians last won the Junior World Cup title in Lucknow in 2016.

BWF World Tour Finals: P. V. Sindhu Sails into Semis

Two-time Olympic medallist and star Indian shuttler P. V. Sindhu sailed into the semi-finals of the ongoing BWF World Tour Finals.
Sindhu defeated German badminton player Yvonne Li in straight sets 21-10, 21-13 to seal the game. The Indian shuttler won her second group stage clash with a thumping victory.
The BWF World Tour Finals is the season-ending tournament of the BWF World Tour, where the top-eight players/pairs in the season's rankings are granted entry.

Saina Out of World Championships

Former world No. 1 Saina Nehwal will miss the World Championships for the first time in her international career due to multiple injuries that have derailed her season. Saina is recovering from a groin pull and a knee injury. The big event will be held in Huelva, Spain, from December 12 to 19.

Andy Flower Steps Down from Coaching Role at Punjab Kings

Assistant coach Andy Flower parted ways with Punjab Kings and is expected to land a role in one of the new teams ahead of IPL 2022.
Former Zimbabwe captain Flower, who worked as a coach in England for more than a decade and guided the national team there, was hired for his maiden IPL stint ahead of the 2020 season.
Flower worked alongside head coach Anil Kumble for the past two seasons. The development comes at a time when K. L. Rahul, Punjab Kings skipper for the past two seasons, is expected to move to the Lucknow franchise.

Saurav Ghosal Wins Malaysian Open Squash Championship 2021

Indian Squash star, Saurav Ghosal scripted history as he became the first Indian squash player to win the Malaysian Open Championships. The second-seeded Ghosal beat Miguel Rodriguez of Colombia 11-7, 11-8 and 13-11 in the men's singles final in Kuala Lumpur to win the 2021 Malaysian Open Squash Championships title. On the other hand, the women's singles title of the 2021 Malaysian Open squash championships has been won by Malaysia's Aifa Azman.
