According to World Health Organisation (WHO) urban air quality database 2016, the air quality in Patna is worse than Delhi. Out of 3,000 cities in 103 countries of the world, Patna is at the sixth and Delhi is at eleventh position in terms of air pollution.
Shockingly, including Bihar's capital Gwalior, Allahabad and Raipur are among the top 10 polluted cities in the world.

CO2 Turned into Stone
Radical new technique promises a cheaper and more secure method of burying CO2 emissions underground instead of storing it as a gas.
Carbon dioxide has been pumped underground and turned rapidly into stone, demonstrating a radical new way to tackle climate change.
The unique project promises a cheaper and more secure way of burying CO2 from fossil fuel burning underground, where it cannot warm the planet. Such carbon capture and storage (CCS) is thought to be essential to halt global warming.

Climate Change Making the Arctic Green
According to NASA scientists, the Arctic region is going green.
NASA scientists have made the discovery using 29 years of data from satellite imageries, which show extensive greening in the Arctic.
In a changing climate, almost a third of the land cover, much of it Arctic tundra, is looking more like landscapes found in warmer ecosystems.
Temperatures are warming fast in the Arctic which has led to longer seasons for plants to grow in and changes to the soils.

Farming Worst Cause of Air Pollution in Europe
Farming is the biggest single cause of the worst air pollution in Europe, as nitrogen compounds from fertilisers and animal waste drift over industrial regions.
When the nitrogen compounds are mixed with air already polluted from industry, they combine to form solid particles that can stick in the fine lung tissue of children and adults, causing breathing difficulties, impaired lungs and heart function, and eventually even premature death.

Air Pollution Rising at Alarming Rate
According to World Health Organisation, outdoor air pollution has grown 8% globally in the past five years.
While all regions are affected, fast-growing cities in the Middle East, south-east Asia and the western Pacific are the most impacted with many showing pollution levels at five to 10 times above WHO recommended levels.
