CO2 Levels Break All Records

According to World Meteorological Organization, the world has now entered a new climate reality era, with average concentration of CO2 expected to remain above the threshold level of 400 parts per million throughout 2016.
As per WMO CO2 levels had previously reached the 400ppm barrier for certain months of the year and in certain locations this had never happened on a global average basis for the entire year.

New Species of Dinosaur Discovered

Australian researchers have discovered a new species of long-necked dinosaurs in northeastern Australia.
This species could have arrived from South America almost 105 million years ago.
The Savannasaurus belong to a branch of the sauropods known as Titanosaurs, the largest land animals to have inhabited the Earth.

September 2016 Warmest in 136 Years

A monthly tally of global temperatures conducted by NASA concluded that September 2016 was the warmest month on record in 136 years.
This record warmth is also an indicator that 2016 will be the warmest calendar year on record, taking over the top spot from 2015.

New Species of Jurassic Reptile

A new species of British ichthyosaur has been identified using skeletal remains.
Ichthyosaurs lived during the age of the dinosaurs but were ocean dwelling reptiles that resembled dolphins or sharks.
The newly identified species lived around 200 million years ago in the early Jurassic period.

Deep Hawaiian Twilight Zone Home of Unique Species

The bright blue waters of Hawaiian coral reefs are home of large number of algae meadows that support some of the unique and rare species found nowhere else on the Earth's sea.
About hundreds of feet below the ocean surface, called the twilight zone, scientists have explored a rich and diversified deep sea ecosystem that is not found on shallow reefs.
The main aim of the research is to study the extensive areas of 100% coral cover at depths of 90 m or more off the islands of Maui and Kauai.
