Saudi Arabia Resolve Incorrect Map Issue Ahead of G20 Summit
India and Saudi Arabia have resolved the issue of the wrongful depiction of India's territorial boundaries on the 20 Riyal banknote that was introduced to commemorate the Kingdom's presidency of the G20 summit.
As per reports, the currency has been withdrawn and the printing of it has been stopped.
Saudi Arabia swiftly moved to handle the issue after Indian envoy to Riyadh Ambassador Ausaf Sayeed, in October had lodged a protest against the wrongful depiction of India's external boundaries on the map printed on the 20 Riyal banknote. The map excluded the undivided Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh from India.

Physicists build an 'Anti-laser' to Charge Your Phone
Scientists have figured out a way to perfectly beam energy across any room, thanks to a sci-fi like device they call an "anti-laser."
The idea is simple: Just like a laser emits light particles, or photons, one after another in a neat and orderly row, an anti-laser sucks up photons one after another in reverse order. Researchers have long speculated that a device like this might make wires and charging cables a thing of the past, allowing people to beam energy invisibly across a room to a laptop or phone and power it without plugging it in.
But though basic anti-lasers have been tested before, the real world is not as neat and orderly as a laser pointed at a fixed receiver in a laboratory. Electronics move around, objects get in the way, walls reflect energy in unexpected ways. The new anti-laser demonstrated in this experiment accounts for all that, and it receives scattered energy beamed around a space in an unpredictable pattern — still receiving 99.996% of the sent power.
Australian cricket team has pushed India to the second spot in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) points table after the International Cricket Council (ICC) affected changes to the WTC rules. The changes in ICC WTC points system have be made as several bilateral series could not be played due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Changes to the rules were made to determine the nine teams' standings on the points table.
Although India (360 points) still has 64 more points than Australia (296) and more series wins, the Aussies have gone atop after the ICC Board approved that the matches played and the matches lost won't be treated as drawn and points would be split. Australia now has 0.822 percentage points (82.2 per cent), which propelled them to the No.1 spot, while India has 0.750 (75 per cent).
The changes were recommended by the Anil Kumble-headed ICC Cricket Committee.

It has been speculated that Manjrekar was removed from the panel as a result of his comment calling Ravindra Jadeja a "bits-and-pieces player" during last year's ODI World Cup and the subsequent reactions from fans and the player himself were an important trigger in him losing his job.

Punjab Congress Chief Jakhar Moots Early Elections
Amid the standoff between the Punjab farmers and the Centre over the resumption of goods trains, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Sunil Jakhar advocated early polls in Punjab which as per him would be a referendum on the three central farm laws. He described these laws as nothing but slow poisoning.
Jakhar said that the election outcome will come as a shock to the BJP which will be outrightly rejected by the people of Punjab. The way the Centre has been treating Punjab is regrettable. The state is being held to ransom by holding back GST and Rural Development Fund and suspending goods trains.

The Labour Ministry has proposed maximum 12 working hours in a day, including intervals under the draft rules on Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (OSH) Code 2020 passed earlier this year by Parliament.
However, the weekly working hours limit has been fixed at 48 hours (six days X eight hours, with one weekly off) under the draft rules notified on November 19, 2020.
This has drawn flak from many corners because the OSH Code passed by Parliament provides for maximum eight working hours in a day.
The necessary provision in the draft rules so that all workers working beyond eight hours get overtime.
As per draft rules on OSH Code, in calculating overtime on any day, a fraction of an hour between 15-30 minutes shall be counted as 30 minutes.
At present, less than 30 minutes is not counted as overtime in the existing legal framework.
