Radhakrishnan NZ's First Minister of Indian Origin
Priyanca Radhakrishnan became New Zealand's first-ever Indian-origin minister, after Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern brought five new ministers into her executive.
She was elected first as a Member of Parliament belonging to the Labour Party in September 2017.
In 2019, she was appointed the Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Minister for Ethnic Communities. Her work in that area has helped her build the base for her new role of Minister for Diversity, Inclusion and Ethnic Communities.
In addition, she has become the Minister for the Community and Voluntary Sector and Associate Minister for Social Development and Employment. She has become New Zealand's first-ever Kiwi Indian Minister.
South Sudan Sacks Head of Central Bank
South Sudan's President Salva Kiir has dismissed the governor of the Central Bank, Gamal Abdalla Wani, less than 10 months after he took office.
The news of his dismissal was announced by decree on the national broadcaster. No reasons were given for his sacking.
Mr. Wani was brought in when his predecessor, Dier Tong Ngor, was sacked. Now Mr. Mgor has been reinstated as Central Bank Governor.
The UNESCO included Panna National Park of Madhya Pradesh under its list of biosphere reserves.
Along with Panna, Fuvahmulahand Addu Atoll of Maldives was also included under the World Network of biosphere reserves.
The UNESCO, under its Man and Biosphere programme included Panna Biosphere region as one of its Biosphere Reserve. Panna National park was included as biosphere reserve by the Union Ministry of Environment and Forest.
The UNESCO described the National Park as a critical tiger habitat and has also pointed out that it is home to World Heritage site of Khajuraho temples.
It was launched by UNESCO in 1971. It is an intergovernmental scientific programme that aims to establish scientific basis to improve the relationship between the people and their environment.
As digital adoption grows amid the pandemic across the spectrum, the data centre industry in India is likely to touch $1.2 billion in the fiscal 2020 and is expected to log a rapid 25-30 per cent compound annual growth rate (CAGR) to reach $4.5-$5 billion by fiscal 2025.
According to a Crisil Research report, the Indian data centre industry, which accounts for 1-2 per cent of the global pie, is estimated to have clocked a modest CAGR of 15-20% since fiscal 2016 to touch $1 billion in fiscal 2019.
The data centre growth rode on a sharp increase in Internet penetration from 30 per cent in fiscal 2016 to 55 per cent in fiscal 2019.
The data centre industry has been largely concentrated in top four cities, with Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Chennai accounting for 60 per cent of total data centre sites and more than 75 per cent in terms of IT load capacities.
Adani Group Takes Over Lucknow Airport Operations
The Adani Group took over the operations, management and development of the airport at Lucknow's Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport from the AAI.
The Adani Group has already taken over the operations Mangaluru in October while it would be taking over the operations for the Ahmedabad from November 11, 2020.
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) previously said in its release that the Aviation Ministry had signed MoUs (memorandums of understanding) with three entities of the Adani Group to provide services like customs, immigration and security at the aforementioned three airports.
The central government had in February 2019 privatised the following six major airports -- Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Mangaluru, Thiruvananthapuram, and Guwahati. After a competitive bidding process, Adani Enterprises won the rights to run all of them.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration, (NASA) has found that 16 Psyche asteroid orbiting between Mars and Jupiter is made of rare metals such as gold, cobalt, platinum, rhenium and iridium. The total worth of the precious metals in the asteroid has been estimated as 10,000 Quadrillion USD by NASA scientists.
According to the NASA scientists, the asteroid might have been formed from the leftover of an earlier planet that lost its mantle and crust after getting collided multiple times during the creation of solar system. NASA is to send an unmanned spacecraft to study the asteroid closely.
It is located at around 370 million kilometres away from the earth. It is one of the most massive objects found in the asteroid belt of solar system. The asteroid was first discovered in 1853 by an Italian astronomer Annibale de Gasparis. The asteroid has been named after the Greek goddess Psyche.

Government Releases First Installment of Rs. 2200 crore to Improve Air Quality
The Government of India released Rs. 2,200 crores to 15 states to improve air quality measures. The air quality improvement measures are to be executed in more than million plus cities.
The amount was released based on the recommendations of the Fifteenth Finance Commission. The fund will help states undertake air quality measures and capacity building in local bodies.
The amount was released to states such as Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.
The Fifteenth Finance Commission is to submit its report for the fiscal years 2020-21 to 2025-26 on November 9, 2020 to President Ram Nath Kovind.
Marked Improvement in RS Panels' Functioning
The eight department-related Parliamentary Standing Committees (DRSCs) of the Rajya Sabha reported a marked improvement in their functioning during 2019-20, clocking the best performance in the past three years.
According to them, each meeting of these panels lasted for an average of two hours and ten minutes 2019-20, thus crossing the two-hour mark for the first time and this also marked an improvement of 55 per cent over that of 2018-19 and a 25 per cent increase over the average of the previous two years.
The average attendance at 117 meetings of these eight committees comes to 49.20 per cent during 2019-20, again the best in the past three years. The average attendance crossed the halfway mark with 50.73 per cent for the first time during the first half of 2019-20.
Ten Rajya Sabha Candidates Elected Unopposed from Uttar Pradesh
Eight candidates of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and two candidates of Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) were elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh.
The BJP candidates who have been elected include Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Arun Singh, Haridwar Dubey, Brij Lal, Neeraj Shekhar, Geeta Shakya, Seema Dwivedi and BL Varma.
Prof. Ram Gopal Yadav of the Samajwadi Party was declared elected unopposed while the BSP`s Ramji Gautam was also elected to the Upper House.
Senior BJP leader Naresh Bansal was declared elected unopposed to Rajya Sabha from Uttarakhand today with no other party in the contest.

China made the world's largest anti-ship ballistic missile to be launched from air into the sea, could pose a major threat to the Indian and US navies, capable of hitting up to 3000 km, the nuclear warhead can also carry Peaching.
China has put the world's largest air-launch missile into service amid mounting tensions from India and the United States.
China has deployed this missile on its H-6N strategic bomber. Recently, this Chinese aircraft was seen flying with the aerial launch version of the hypersonic anti-ship ballistic missile. Such missiles are only supplied by US and Russian forces, except China.
Former Unnao MP Annu Tandon joined Samajwadi Party within days of quitting the Congress, expressing dissatisfaction with the functioning of its Uttar Pradesh unit.
Tandon joined the Samajwadi Party along with Ankit Parihar, a secretary of the state's Congress unit along with 150 party workers in a small function at the SP headquarters in presence of Akhilesh Yadav.

Rajasthan became the first state in the country to pass a bill to protect people against coronavirus infection.
Under this new bill, the state assembly amended the Rajasthan Epidemic Act, making it mandatory for people to wear face masks in both private and public means of transport and while attending any social or political events.
The House passed the Rajasthan Epidemic (Amendment) Bill, 2020 by voice vote.
The Bill has also made the new provision by seeking to add a new clause in section 4 of the Act. The new clause proposes to prohibit the movement of any person in public without properly covering his mouth and nose with a face mask.
The Assam government has started construction of 119 high schools in tea gardens. So far, these areas had only primary and middle schools. The Tea Tribes comprise 17 per cent of the state's population.
In more than 70 years after Independence, it is for the first time that high schools will be established in the tea gardens of Assam. It marks a new beginning for the development of education and culture in the tea gardens of Assam.
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal laid the foundation stone for the new schools.
According to officials, Rs. 1.20 crore would be spent for constructing each model high school.
