Recommendation from the Board of directors of Monarch Books.
In this paragraph author wants to show that the Monarch Books is well known among the customers for their wide selection of books.it is recommended that the children section should be removed and a cafe should be made.This is explained by giving various evidences but this does not seems to be reliable.
In above paragraph author shows false anatomy by comparing the opening of cafe by the Regal Books.Secondly, the author gives the qualitative data about the population under age 10.Third,author also try to confuse by giving wrong method to remove the children section and opening the cafe.
Firstly author try to confuse us by false anatomy that as it happened in case of Regal Books the Monarch Books will also gain popularity.It is necessary that as it happened in case of Regal Books will also happen in case of Monarch Books.The environment of Monarch Books may be different from that of Regal Books.
Secondly,author does not provide us the quantitative data about the population under age ten.he tries to confuse us by giving percentage of the age group.The number of children in age group of under 10 have increased but author tries to give negative effect of this.Author is correct that %age of population under 10 have decreased but the number of people in this age group are increasing due to increase in population.
thirdly,author gives wrong advice that Monarch Books should discontinue the children's book section and open a cafe.This would deteriorate the quality they are well known of wide selection of books.And this may lead to decrease in their popularity instead of increasing the popularity.
Thus from the above evidences we are able to conclude that the Monarch Books should widen their section instead of opening the cafe.
