Teacher Training Highlights: PTE Masterclass Recap

On 20 September, trainers from across India, Dubai, Nepal, and Bhutan joined an exclusive session on New PTE Question Types, Smart Prep, and Scoring Secrets with Manoj Wilson, a perfect 90 scorer and a Pearson-certified trainer.
The session covered:

Hidden twists in the new PTE Academic tasks.
Practical prep hacks for classroom delivery.
Scoring insights often overlooked in guidebooks.
Templates that work effectively without risking penalties.

All participants will soon receive their Certificates of Participation. Trainers who complete ten sessions in this exclusive series will also be awarded the Grand Master Certificate.

Participation was strong, with 63 trainers attending, and the discussions showed how targeted strategies can quickly improve student outcomes.

Item-wise Tests for New PTE Question Types: Ahead of the Curve

The enhanced PTE Academic has introduced two new question types, and learners now have access to them in itemwise practise sets.

Summarize Group Discussion (5 tests): Training active listening and structured speaking.
Respond to a Situation (5 tests): Developing spontaneous and natural responses in academic contexts.

By practicing these tasks before moving to mock tests and sectional tests, students adapt to the new expectations more quickly and build exam confidence.

DET Updates: Test-Identical and Test Ready

DET preparation on the TCY platform continues to evolve.

Twelve updated mocks aligned with the new format are rolling out, with one already live.
Item-wise practise for Interactive Speaking and Interactive Listening is in progress.
The DET interface now mirrors the latest official exam interface.

Learners become familiar with the exact look and feel of the test, leading to a smoother experience and stronger performance when it matters most.

SAT Interface Upgrade: The Real Experience Before the Real Test

The SAT interface is being upgraded to reflect the latest official exam interface. The on-screen calculator is now aligned with the real exam, complete with graphing functions such as regression lines. Students can practise in conditions that prepare them for the actual test environment, ensuring fewer surprises and more focus on solving problems.

Global Study Abroad Trends: Signals You Cannot Ignore

The study abroad wave is not just growing; it is reshaping itself. For consultants and training providers, these shifts open new doors every day.

Tier-2 and Tier-3 Cities Rising
Indore, Patna, Vijayawada and Nagpur are no longer quiet markets. Families there are actively looking for the right guidance, and first movers will become the go-to names.
UK Still Popular
With a 44 per cent jump in visas year-on-year, the UK continues to pull Indian students. Despite policy noise, demand is steady and parents trust established channels.
Germany Surging
Affordable fees, scholarships and post-study work options have made Germany the fastest-growing destination. Its share has jumped from 13 per cent in 2022 to 32.6 per cent in 2024–25, overtaking the US and Canada. That represents a whole new stream of applications waiting to be guided.
Japan Opening Up
With higher enrolment limits and pressing labour shortages, Japan is investing heavily in attracting Indian talent. Consultants who act early can own this new frontier.
Policy Push at Home
State initiatives like Karnataka’s Study Abroad program, already with more than 5,000 registrations, show government-level backing. This will keep the pipeline strong for years.
What it all adds up to
Students from more cities are looking at more destinations, supported by stronger policy. Each will need evidence of English-language proficiency and trusted guidance on visas and pathways. The opportunity is wide, the momentum is real, and those ready to ride this wave will define the next phase of growth in the study abroad business.
