The Occupational English Test (OET) is an international English language
test that assesses the language communication skills of healthcare
professionals who seek to register and practise in an English-speaking
environment. OET covers all four language skills with an emphasis on
communication in a healthcare environment. It tests for the same four
language skills as are tested by general English proficiency tests for
international students, like IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, viz. Reading, Listening,
Speaking and Writing. While the content for the first two sections (R, L) is
common for all professional healthcare streams, that for the last two (S, W)
is profession-specific, based on typical workplace situations. To start
with, TCY offers adequate practice for OET, in the form of simulated
sectional tests, apart from strategy videos, for nursing professionals only.
