We provide qualitative and professionally supported community welfare services in rural areas of Nepal through community residents’ participation and engagement. By developing new sources of capital and innovative tools for community development, we accurately organize and advocate activities and projects/programs that advance and promote the quality of community life. SANO PAILA (a little step) is a registered not-for-profit, non-government, member based organization working for the care and development of the community. It was founded in December 2006 by a group of self-motivated and dynamic youths dedicated to the idea that as the power of spirit rises within so does the desire to serve the community. Hence, we believe in volunteer community care and development service and have put up the forethought that the community life has to be touched at all points, the economic, the hygienic, the social and the political. We recognize a large heart and a passion driven character as the best apparatus for this service.

The organization is in its initial stage of development and has emerged from a grass root level to an intermediary organization by building its capacity to work closely together with the community. Since its establishment, it has strengthened its relations with the community and other organizations and agencies. It has conducted program/s in close collaboration with Community Development & Advocacy Forum Nepal and coordinated an event organized by SAARC TB & HIV/AIDS Center, Kathmandu and is a member organization of HERD (Health Research and Development).
The three year Programming Strategy of SANO PAILA plans to develop into a resource organization by increasing its financial capital, building trust and social capital and maximizing the use of available resources.
The Organization three (3) year program strategy also plans to extend its programs and projects in other five (5) districts of the country and aims to foster partnerships and collaborations with organizations and agencies that can contribute to the overall vision of SANO PAILA(a little step) . The three (3) year strategy was reviewed and approved by the Governing Board of the organization on June 17th, 2007 and by the Organization’s first Plenary Meeting held in Feb, 2007.

Organization Accomplishments:
I. SAARC Partnership Program with Industries on TB
and HIV/AIDS Control and Prevention
Under the Public Awareness, Advocacy and Partnership programs in TB and HIV/AIDS control of STC, NTC and DHO, SANO PAILA (a little step) coordinated the awareness event.Jointly Organized in Parsa District by SAARC TB Center, National TB Center and District Health Office, Parsa on 26 December, 2006.
II. "PEACE BIRGANJ UNITED BIRGANJ" -PEACE RALLY organized in the city of Birganj. -Jan 2007
III. 3 free health camps organized in the period of 3 months ( Feb, Mar, Apr 2007)
IV. DRUG COUNSELLING & TREATMENT CENTER - this project is ongoing and it gives counselling and treatment to drug users in 3 remote villages surrounding Birganj. Target Group - Opium, Heroine users.
V. FREE AMBULANCE CALL CENTER - for low-income neighborhoods residents, SANO PAILA's AMBULANCE CALL CENTER is reachable 24 hours, seven days week at no cost. (Project supported by Jha & Sons Enterprises, Birganj, Nepal).
