India-Saudi water-cooperation MoU signed during Saudi Water Week

PM Modi’s Seychelles visit ends with nine agreements and UPI rollout

Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded a three-day state visit to Seychelles from 27 to 29 June 2026. He attended the Golden Jubilee National Day as a guest of honour and held talks with President Patrick Herminie. India and Seychelles signed nine agreements, including the rollout of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and a Rs 1,250 crore line of credit for priority projects. India to implement UPI in Seychelles with NPCI International

India has signed an MoU with the Central Bank of Seychelles to implement the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) in Seychelles. The agreement was signed between NPCI International Payments Limited and Seychelles’ Central Bank. The move aims to strengthen cooperation in digital payments and expand India’s UPI platform abroad. Authorities say UPI adoption will enable fast, convenient transfers for individuals and businesses, potentially boosting remittances, tourism, and trade with Seychelles.
